Ya know, it is stuff like this that makes it painfully clear why Clark
is under investigation. Hell, you may be next. Whether the info you
just spoke of is true or not, just revealing stuff about Groom is not
wise. My issue isn't with the "runway" or new "fuel tanks". It's kind
of a bigger picture. Why are folks, like youself, so willing to reveal
stuff of any kind about Groom? I mean, what's the satisfaction? What
kind of rush does it give you?
We live in a free and democratic society. We have a right to know
what our government is doing. Granted, we do need to have a few
secrets, but no where near as many as what our goverment is currently
keeping under wraps. As an example, the government still has
classified information on Amilia Erhart.
Furthermore, just exactly what are these folks "revealing" about
when you can plainly see runways and fuel tanks from (1) satellite
photos, (2) photos from Tikaboo Peak, and (3) looking out of airplane
windows when flying in and out of the Los Angeles basin on commercial
flights.

John,
I think you missed this point I made (above)..."My issue isn't with
the "runway" or new "fuel tanks". It's kind of a bigger picture."
As to your view about our "right to know what our government is doing"
I'm glad you acknowledge "that we do need to have a few secrets." I
agree. What I think what we might disagree with is "who" decides for
us what is kept secret. And what those secrets are.
I personally have no problem with secrets being kept for national
security reasons. I'm sure you do as well. But you and I don't decide
what those secrets are. However, we have 100 Senators and a "yit" load
of Congressman that are elected by us, as our representatives. They
are charged to watch over the military for us. Many in the Legislator
are privvy to the very secrets that are being kept. (My favorite
secret being the tapping of Soviet underwater telephone cables by US
Navy Subs. Then of course is the development of the F-117.) Since I'm
not by nature a synical person, by and large I trust most of our
policies concerning military secrets.
My reason for bringing all this up has to do with ..."what would
happen if someone DID capture a secret on video or photo, say from
Tikaboo, and revealed that info to the public?" Thankfully, Groom does
an outstanding job of keeping its secrets out of view.
That's the big picture for me. I want the folks at GROOM to keep there
secrets, because in the end, it is going to benefit we Americans.
Somewhere down the road, whatever they are doing, it's going to have a
role in whooping the enemies ass. And, I care more about ass kicking
than screwing with our nations military.
So...new runways and fuel tanks only tease. In and of itself, it's
nothing to me. However, someone else may be able to gather something
from that, somebody who doesn't get to our country to climb a mountain
and take a picture. Clark and his kind do it for them. And that is
what bugs me.
