One of the ISPs which I use has the above software running. I suspect
that all of my newsgroup and e-mail posts are being monitered. In the
case of news group posts some appear others don't. The ones which
appear do so after quite a delay. Downloading of headers, both e-mail
and news group, takes longer with this particular ISP than with
others. Also there is a noticable delay at the start of downloading,
especially both news group headers and article bodies. It may be that
I am reading too much into this or maybe I am not. Given that an
honest to goodness whiskey distillery in Scotland was targeted by the
American NSA as a potential producer of WMD...who knows.
It seems to me that this is the sort of software more suited to
political dictatorships attempting to run closed societies than ISPs
in the "supposed" free world. However, I am the first to admit I may
be wrong. This is probably the sort of software a free society should
encourage ISPs to run. Or maybe have the Government run for them.
The other question and it is only a question I make NO allegations NOR
do I make any accusations whatsoever. I have no hidden agenda. This IS
a totally inocent and honest query. Given how the US Security Agencies
work and the nature of the software in question it has to be asked.
Who owns and runs this software place? I make NO allegations here.
This is to the best of my knowledge a perfectly honest, law abiding
and above board tradding company. I have NO knowledge to the contrary.

I wouldn't mind a bit of info as well as advice on all of the above.
