#1. Charles Berlitz, the Bermuda Triangle, and More

Linguist, author Charles Berlitz dies
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Charles Berlitz of Fort
Lauderdale, Fla., a well-known linguist and author of the book "The
Bermuda Triangle, has died.
The Miami Herald reported Wednesday that he died last week at the
age of 90 at University Hospital in Tamarac, Fla.
Berlitz was the grandson of Maximilian Berlitz, who founded the
international chain of language schools.
Charles Berlitz was also considered a top linguist and spoke several
languages.
He was head of publications for the Berlitz Co. in New York before
retiring to Fort Lauderdale.
He also spent 13 years on active duty in the U.S. Army, mostly in
intelligence.
He is the author of several books on the paranormal in addition
to "The Bermuda Triangle," including "Without a Trace" and "The
Roswell Incident."
The cause of death Thursday was not disclosed.

#6. A Brief History of the Mysterious Monuments
Pyramid Schemes:
Impossibly huge and geometrically precise stone constructs,
withstanding the ravages of time as if by the will of the gods.
Unlike the Bermuda Triangle and Atlantis, of course, pyramids are
decidedly real. What is in question is their origins, their possible
mystical properties, and whether any may have been found on the
ocean floor as Atlantean relics.
It has long been argued that the ancient Egyptians and Aztecs could
not possibly have built the pyramids on their own; therefore, they
are evidence of some greater intelligence, possibly
extraterrestrial. But the earthly tools used in their construction
have been found, and, while the pyramids represent an astonishing
feat of engineering that required untold years of labor, it appears
that early humans were capable of the task.

heavy furniture flying across the room, those around her could not
grasp any object she held, and in her presence, compasses danced

the edge of convulsion, and she often ran away at the first
indication of an attack.

I want to know if anyone has had a like experience.
About 3:45AM one morning I was awakened to a noise coming from my
three-year-old son's room. Eventhough there was a rain and
electrical storm outside I could hear this noise, like a clicking
sound with some occasional high-pitched gurgling. Concerned that my
son might be having some breathing problems I sat up in bed and
directed my attention to the hallway where his door was. It startled
me that his door was closed, as we had never closed his door in the
past. Again I heard the noise and even though I tried for a brief
moment to wake my wife I could not rouse her. Again and again I
heard the noise and was quite terrified that someone possibly was in
my son's room. I quickly gathered my courage and went to my closet
for my S&W 45 caliber semi-automatic pistol. I chambered a round and
moved to my son's door putting my ear against the door. Again I
heard the sounds and burst into the room. What I saw next will never
leave me... something I think about several times every day since
then. The way my son's room was laid out was my son's little bed was
to the left of the open door and a window was directly ahead.
Eventhough the light was off, a moment after I burst in I looked
directly into my son's bed as lightening illuminated the room. I
could see my son setting up in bed facing a small alien creature as
if they were playing or something. Simultaneously I realized the
window was open, the screen was off and there was a larger alien
creature somehow hovering just outside the window. The rain was
pouring into the open window and I have learned since then that the
best way I could describe the creature is that it was a "Grey". I
was petrified and could not move. I could tell by it's movements
that I startled the alien outside the window as much as it startled
me. The next thing I know, I am laying on the floor looking up at
the lightening painting the ceiling and realized that my entire
backside is soaking wet, the window open, it was not raining and my
son was sound asleep in his little bed. ! Later I found my 45 laying
in the center of the dinning room table with the magazine removed
and one bullet (the chambered round) missing. I have not been able
to reconcile this event to this date. The window was certainly open,
the screen on the ground two floors below (we lived on the second
floor) and the carpet was soaked. In addition, the missing bullet
was never found. I don't know how long I was out or why I was out
but it could not have been more that a couple hours. I know this was
a Grey who, for some reason, was letting it's child play with mine.
I will never be the same. Before this I thought folks who saw UFOs
were quacks.

#9. Dawn at the Alamo

Everyone who visits the Alamo, especially native Texans, has some
kind of 'experience'. Most of the time, it simply a sense of awe, or
an overpowering sense of the immensity of what took place on the
spot. In my own case, being a natural sensitive, it took a slightly
different tone. In the summer of 1990, I took my children, Erich,
Megan and Heather to see the Alamo and the other sites in San
Antonio. I had waited until I though that they were old enough to
understand the significance of the place, or at least the two oldest
were. Erich was eight years old at the time, Megan was six, and
Heather had just turned four. It was not the first trip to the
Alamo, for me, by any means, but, it was, as usual, an awe inspiring
experience.

#10. Notable January Close Encounters in History

Mantell Case Was it a hoax?
1948-01-07; USA, Kentucky, Godman AFB
On January 7th 1948 at 1.20pm the Godman Air Field tower crew
sighted a bright, disc shaped object. The sighting was quickly
brought to the attention of base officers. For 90 minutes, dozens of
people, including Hix watched the UFO as it hung almost motionless
in the sky. People as far as 100 miles could see the UFO.

1958-01-16; Brazil, Trindade Island
Off the Brazilian coast near Trinidad a ship's crew as well as a Mr.
Barania, photographer for the Brazilian Navy witnessed a saucer
shaped object that shadowed the movements of the ship. No warfare
exercises were practiced. Instead, the Brazilian vessel was
participating in the International Geophysical Year of 1958.
Computer enhancement of photographs taken reveal that the craft was
composed of a globe circled by a large, metallic ring much like the
planet Saturn.

On the 20th January 1988, whilst driving on the Eyre Highway,
Nullarbor, Australia Faye Knowles her 3 sons and the family dog,
were travelling towards South Australia to visit some relatives.
As they were driving along they suddenly saw a strange light ahead
of them. It was pale yellow and seemed to be zigzagging around. The
object then shot straight towards the Knowles family and hovered
right in front of the car. They described the object as looking like
an egg in an egg cup.

the road he put on his high beams. He saw a figure walked out from
the side of the road and stopped on the middle of the road for a
second. It looked like it was grayish in color and it was walking on
