it's not Bald Mountain .......

if you were driving up into Rachel from just south of town ....
about the time you can clearly see the post office and that little gas
station / store , on the left ......
then look up immediately to your right ..... looking to be just up
ahead a little ( actually looks south of directly across the
road from the INN ) . it's up there , just south off the peak of that
little rise of hills on the " east " side of the road. the side away
from Rachel and the base. looks like you could easily pick it off
with a 30.06 ( to use a metaphor .... not actiually suggesting doing
that ... but giving some idea of the distance ) , tho I know that
distances there can be very decieving. it's not far from the town
at all ...... just up on that prominatory that overlooks the whole
town area.

you bring up an interesting point tho ........
I have always thought that observation station was actually a "
manned " facility because of how fast that " glass " seems to
shift from one view to another. I don't usually think of remote
viewing stations ( all those little poles with the cameras and
microwave spread spectrum wi-fi dishes on them ) as having
equipment that " slews " that fast. BUT ...... that ability is WELL
with-in the capabilities of most modern video monitoring equipment.
the casinos are filled with that kind of fast moving remote viewing ,
hi-res ultra zoom, type equipment. it does nearly always seem to be
in the same place ... but that , alone . doesn't mean it's not a
manned facility.

if you look at the Google satellite map , at Rachel ..... look
at that ridge line , right across the road , EAST of the highway.
now zoom in and find the little road that goes up near the point
, nearly directly across the road from the Inn. it's on the EAST side
of the ridge line , coming from the east but goes from slightly north
/ south to the point on the ridge line , ending right at the
installation it's self
.... it's on the back side of the view from Rachel. THAT
is the location that I'm talking about. the sat maps for that area
are ( comvienently ) the older " coarse " resolution jobbies .....
but you can still make out the little road I'm talking about , if you
look carefully. ( better hurry ... might disappear after this hits
the ng , tho .... hah aha ha )

take a good slow look at ALL the roads that seem to be associated
with the " main " east / west ( buss ) entrance road ( directly into
the base ) and take notice that they don't seem to have much to do
with the main paved highway ... this because they project right
across it and ( semingly ) end , beyond the highway , right into that
ridgeline " east " of the paved road.
that road , those little associated roads and those sprinkled little
buildings / things and disturbed loactions suggest that MUCH to do
with the main entrance road takes place EAST of the highway too
.......

just some interesting observations ......... ha ha ha ha haha
probably rather trivial observations about " stuff " that is most
likely " old news " ........ whose heyday was , mostly , some time
ago. ( kinda like looking at those old air blast nuke pock marks ,
immediately easy of area51's west ridgeline ......way old news but
interesting stuff never the less , if you get my drift )

Nice to have an on topic post given all this Sokar bullshit.

Are you talking about Bald Mountain? There are rumors of fixed cameras
up there, but it is really hard verify such rumors given the small size
of the cameras. The large telescopic camera has been documented.

I'm not sure how much activity can be monitored from such a distance.
It's 13 miles from Bald Mt. to Rachel. There are hills that are closer,
but then again it's easier to spot those cameras. This is one camera in
the hills not far from Rachel:
