So what is your hypothesis? You think this
is a Tehachapi Complex entrance point that
is no longer in use? or ???

judging from all the older satellite photos and from standard
government covert base practice ...... I'd say that what
ever is happening , up the hill behind the QRM area .....
that QMR was built to hide the actual installation by
providing a non descript looking posted " buffer zone "
between the base and the outside world. I'm thinking
that the QMR type business was chosen both because
a farm there ( in that wastelands space ) wouldn't look quite
right and with a commercial business " looking " front ......
traffic , in and out , wouldn't look suspicious. I'd guess
QMR to have been " open " , the gates unlocked and
someone there monitoring traffic , possibly for a period of
time when some subcontracted type construction was taking place.
QMR would hide that traffic nicely. QMR is boarded up
now ( so to speak ) both because the construction is over and
like the east entrance to area51 , it's far too notorious
and watched by saucer nuts. ( me ? ha ha ha ha ) just locking
and securing the space is all that is needed now.
great idea and works perfectly .........

I think you're suggesting that the gate
is no longer (if ever) in use, due to it's
rusted condition. Did there ever appear to
be any kind of key card, magnetic exit switch
etc that would facilitate vehicles entering
and exiting?

I take it you've been there or live near
there now. What about the road surface?
Paved or dirt/gravel, I can't quite tell
what you're suggesting when you compare
the sat photos with the QMR web page photos.
Are you saying it's a paved road (asphalt)
that has been covered by dirt to disguise it?

right .......

long " before " QMR , as the web site and acme satellite
photos show ....... the sand canyon rd was a nice , average,
paved two lane county road. on the sat maps , it's shown all the way
from the highway ( 58 ) on up into the mountains, a large
number of miles past the QMR gates. it has road signs , lines
painted on it and power poles along it .
it's a common , standard, hard surface asphalt paved ... exactly as
you would see anywhere in rural California.

BUT ......... look at the QMR site pages and see THAT site
picture shows the road to be " dirt " dirt up to the gates and dirt
through the gates too. in real life, the road has NEVER looked
that way , before OR after QMR. it's always been paved.

why is it shown dirt ? ......... dunno but ........ if YOU were
driving a $150,000 motorhome or even a $42,000 one ......
you wouldn't want to go drive or camp on dirt / dirt roads . a
place with " dirt " roads is WAY too primitive to attract the campers
very much. all popular places to camp are ALWAYS
paved for convenience and to keep the dirt down for the campers.
( that loose dirt turns to MUD when it rains too )
its probably " dirt " in the pictures to drive off any unlikely
campers that might accidently take the site serious. to take that
picture
on the web site .... people at QMR had to cover all the paved road
areas with dirt to get the picture you see there.

What's your guess on the size of gate opening,
weight bearing capability of the road
surface etc in regards to heavy trucks?

The two gate panels appear to be either 8'wide
6' tall or 10' wide, 8' tall, standard dimensions.

Due to the angles in the photos it's difficult
to make comparisons between known sized items
and items in question. How high is that driveway
header over the road? I think I'm seeing about
13' or 15' of clearance. That would barely be
enough for 18 wheelers and tall RV's.

the clearance is large enough for large motorcoach sized
RVs ( greyhound buss size ) to pass through and
usual standard service trucks, water trucks etc.....
even QMRwould need to have traffic that size to enter
on a regular basic. I don't remember if that white
board, across the gates , is there or not....... but take
a look at that " military style " guard shack /
access house !!!! ......... dunno if you can see it in the pictures
but it is built to accommodate LARGE sized traffic ..... larger
looking than the main gate too ........ it's interesting.

Pull the county records ownership maps? Contact the
property management company listed on the website?

Lumpy

you know ......... the important thing to keep in focus here is NOT
QMR ....... but what lies directly behind it. if you could just drive
straight up that paved road , past the QMR gate to a number of sites
like this one ......... which is directly off the paved road ........
miles past QMR ......
( notice the paved sand canyon road and the power poles along the
paved road )

http://mapper.acme.com/?lat=35.168108&long=-118.33408&scale=10&theme=Image&width=3&height=2&dot=Yes

which is the same area as " this " from the Tehachapi base site
.........

http://www.geocities.com/electrogravitics/th-uuf-09.html which the
site author calls " EG craft production rollout ramp " .

and get out and look around and find out , once and for all, if any of
this is true . THAT is the " meat " of this pursuit.

naturally if " we " found out that even a little of it was " factual "
then we'd all have to go away and leave it alone . we'd have a
basic responsibility to government to stay back , away from it.
nothing wrong with wanting a little " peel - a -boo " at some great
new governmental hi-tech toys .... maybe even a photo or two
or some great leftovers ( a betzball ? ah ah ah aha ) but not
actually mess with the facility or program it's protecting.
( that and people can get " spanked " for messing where they
 shouldn't ha haha haahha ha a )
