I wrote to the real estate contact listed
for QMR. Told them I wanted to host a
family reunion for a large, spread out
group of siblings that all had RV's.
bet they wondered how you stumbled in on them !!!
We exchanged a couple of emails. Essentially
their line was that QMR is temporarily closed
for remodeling but it would open at a non-
determined date in the future. They had
no better pics of the RV parking spots.
ha a ahahah a .. pretty strange for a place
that supposedly only opened late
last fall , for business . anyway , thats when their
web site went online. less than one year
old and needing remodeling ...... hummmmmmm
that " pics " issue is another poorly conceived
way they managed the " blurb " on their site.
hope they are reading this ( and they most surely
are if they are worth a pound of beans ) hope
they take " this " lesson and possibly study
some other RV sites and use their examples.
at the least , they need the club house
full of people having ( so called ) fun and a couple
of pictures of a large self propelled RV in ( what
is supposed to be ) their premium , drive - thru,
RV site.
course , " all that " won't play nowadays as the place
has taken on the " out of service " look. <g> it'd
grate against their " defunct " persona they currently
display.
They said they didn't have current certification
on the sanitation so if they did open, they
recommended bringing my own water supply.
well " thats " odd, since they supposedly
must have spent tens of thousands ( or
likely much more ) to develop the resort
grounds and set up that fancy web site
just last fall. wonder what happened to
them in a few short months for their water
certification to vanish. that , and not to
mention the place being over grown with
weeds and ( evidently ) nearly abandoned.
that " full bore " fancy metal work front
gate had to cost an arm and a leg
all by it's self ....... not to mentioned all those
resort buildings standing empty, right now.
hummmmmmm ...... think I'm starting to detect
an odor here ( no , not my socks ) !!!!!!
They stressed how the area had many acres
of "natural area". I suggested that we weren't
particularly interested in the "nature" aspect,
but in holding a family reunion where we could
all sit around and swap stories.
all we want to look at is a quick 20 or 30 minutes
drive , just up the paved canyon road to look
over a couple of locations from the web site
satellite photos ,, that'd be enough " nature " trip
for me !!! ah ah ahhah aha fat chance anyone
is going to get a look up that road, any time soon.
They suggested that there was another RV park
near the Tehachapi airport that is less "Nature"
focused and is currently open.
hah ahahah a ... WELL mighty neighborly of them
wasn't it ? THAT is a real thoughtful resort to
send their business over there. probably got
the RV xray machine set up over there ....
to get a quick look inside your rig. ha hah ah aha
guess you know you probably got some " buds "
sitting down the street from your house and your
home and cellphones are recorded now too ....
not to mention your cable computer connection.
ahaha ha well ..... join the crowd. ahahha
the fact that " we " can't put that facility ( as per
the Tehachapi base web site ) to bed
says a LOT in of it's self, doesn't it ? the more we
find out about the place , so far , the mystery deepens.
gotta give the whole " tale " some measure of
legitimacy ....... mainly because how could the
author of that base web site randomly pick out a place
to call " a base " and end up with such a well
bottled up area ( more than 120 sq miles ) that no
one can access any part of ??? ah ahah hahaah
we should be able to put that puppy to rest in a
flash ..... but it ain't happ'in ........ that ,
by it's self is pretty interesting .
this is fun .........
k.................
