I'd  expect  that both the picture of the device and the image it's
self  are  both  fictional as most of that equipment is still military
classified. the army and navy have  had ground to ground
and air to ground  color  uwb 3d imaging equipment deployed in the
field for nearly 12 years. most of the equipment is in the 3rd +
generation now. 

it's so far along in development that the FCC has legislated
provisions for civilian application of UWB  now. ( this usually
happens " at least " 12 - 15 years after the military  has developed
it )  many new civilian applications in equipment ( mostly wireless
network stuff  and cordless phones ) are slated for introduction
this coming christmas season.  equipment mills in Taiwan and China
are  already " deep " into the new technology.

US civilians haven't heard much about it , but it's been around over a
decade .   very common in profound  military uses. ( especially those 
rf passive uwb marking and ID / satellite field inventory / location
devices )

an entire revolution in RF technology  ( 1000 X the advent of
spread spectrum ) has  quietly taken place and  the average
person hardly knows anything about it !  trippy ....

Now it might make sense that the mesh goes up as part of the
construction, then a more conventional opaque siding follows.

I'm going to do another panorama in September or October. I've been
waiting for them to get further along in the construction.
