I need to climb Tikaboo with some portable RDF and get a good fix on
the beacon. Direction finding without line of sight may not be very
accurate. I don't know if PYD is related to any of those fixes.
Doing direction finding along the ET Highway, PYD was on the NTS rather
than around Groom Lake. From the highway, not only do you not have line
of sight, but the distance to the beacon can be so far that being off a
degree can lead to large errors.
BTW, if you did though that Janet audio, there is mention of
glideslope, so Groom must have a localizer. I haven't found that
frequency either.
