Let me suggest this: Military installations
are guarded by MP's, that is, by Uniformed
Service people. Area-51 is guarded by
contract hires...

Every military base I've ever been to
has contract security, not MP's. I've
known plenty of the guys that did that
job. Modest wage, nothing special. Just
another armed security guy like at the
banks or driving the Brinks truck.

Hey, no argument from me.
Next time I ride my Harley past Ft. Myer, Andrews,
or Quantico (all local to me) I'll let them know at
the gate they're all just Poseurs, Wannabes, or
Rent-a-Cops. Not !...
I've never been to Myer, but the last time I was
at Andrews AFB and the several times I've been
at MCB Quantico, it was contract security, not
MP's at the gate. Has it changed post 9/11?
Of course that's at the regular, surface road
gates. Maybe you're talking about the underground,
2000 mph tunnel entrance running from Palmdale.
Those are probably MP's, or maybe Greys with
force field security and anal probe ID scanners.
