Prior to GWBush, Americans were not given secret trials. Many a
government worker has walked in order for their testimony not to be
made public. Katrina Leung is the most recent one I can recall, and
worse yet, she was a double agent.

Suuure... the "Fact".
The fact that the gov't. could have erased BL himself much, much easier
and more quickly never occurs to some people.
If he actually knew anything or had ever been in a position to learn
anything he would have been prosecuted and jailed or possibly executed,
after a perfectly legitmate trial held in secret in the interest of
national security. I like David Adair but it's the same with him. I
enjoy his stories because he's so much more adept at writing 'em. BL's
a hack.
