It's possible that PYD and "Pyramid" have nothing to do with each other.  I
tend to think that "Pyramid" is more a descriptive term used by controllers,
much like, as it's been suggested, "Planet" is Mercury.

I did do a little looking on Google Earth at what I think is about the
Beatty 060030 point.  There's an interesting hill/mountain at 36 56 24.0N,
116 04 50.0W.  Turning on the terrain and tilting the display to a near
level view shows a relatively high peak, quite barren, with a small building
on top along with some ancillary structures.  The winding road to it looks
paved and in fairly good shape.  I'd guess that from an aircraft this hill
would be quite noticeable.
