seem to be the location.
Then that still leaves me confused about "field in sight".
"Field in sight" doesn't necessarily mean you can see the runway, just the
general area. Sort of "I can see where it is and can get there visually
without any help from the controllers."
I would say that ABBIE is the point that is 4-5 mi south of the base.
I haven't plotted the co-ords you give on a map, but if that's in line with
the runway ABBIE could well be the outer marker or Final Approach Fix for
runway 32 ILS approach. It could also be used a reporting point for a
visual approach. i.e. "Cleared for the visual 32, report ABBIE".
