It's hard to say how difficult this trip would be, but since you can
tour the NTS, I'm not too keen to do the hike.

Pyramid -- A visual waypoint used on Groom Approach frequency.
Apparently a pyramid-shaped peak at the south end of the Groom Range.
The peak is not obvious on a map, but it is easily seen by flights from
south due to light colored surface compared to surrounding terrain.
Visible from Mt. Cury (public land east of Mercury).
I've heard of that website. :-)
Tom Mahood has a picture of that general area from Mt. Stirling at
http://www.serve.com/mahood/papoose/papsmall.jpg. But there seem to be a
lot of peaks that would match Glenn's description.
From the Mt. Cury hike description at
http://www.ufomind.com/area51/org/nts/mtcury.html it seems _very_ close to
the border and _very_ strenuous. I think I'll pass.
SHOWW seems to have replaced the waypoint described by the bearing/distance
off the LAS VOR. (I forgot the numbers.) But it's in the same place in the
sequence of waypoints so I'd guess it's not to far from 'Planet'. As it's
name is given, rather than a VOR bearing/distance, I'd also guess it's on
some sort of chart.
