btw:   the ' really  " late model  LNBs have SIGNIFICANTLY
lower noise levels, and much improved sensitivity !  they are VERY
inexpensive  ( the single models )  and  easy to come by on ebay.
( thus being the most desirable type  )

other LNBs / dishes are equal or better ... such as small 4' c-band
dishes / LNBs ,  x band units commercial units 
 (  the diode mixer types being  FAR less effective than the solid
state  LNA  types ), as well as the 12 gig dtv type dbs units.

the system , as I mention it above , has more than enough system 
(  LNB  / i.f.  )  gain without additional parts needed.   those " in
line "  post LNA preamps do not contribute any useful additional
system abilities. 

the bigger the dish the better. bigger dishes have more gain and
offer a tighter focal point to help  locate the signal source more
easily. bigger dishes are more difficult to transport and handle / aim
tho.
