cell phone coverage at the base, but I don't think the base would
allow them to be used for voice communications. Anyone with enough of
a budget could use a service monitor and hear the conversation.
Isn't there technology to block cell phones locally - I'm sure I saw
something about this. If I was the base commander, I'd make a point of
blocking cell phone access.
It's not the phones, they only carry for a mile or so - maybe. It's what on those
Cell Phone Towers that boosts and relays signals. They are, I'm sure, easily
controlled by the engineers as electronics is stupid and will only do what you
tell it to do.
