if the 1972 Presidential election had been interfered with in any
way by the so-called "Watergate" affair. We think that the lynching
of Senator George Allen of Virginia is a much bigger story,
involving, as it may, French interference in the 2006 US Senate
race in Virginia in an attempt to defeat Senator Allen, who had been
viewed as among the most likely Republican Presidential nominees for
2008. We do not want Paris or any other government picking the next
President of the United States.

cross connections between the characters involved in the character
assassination and overall lynching of Senator Allen that lead us to
believe that there are just too many coincidences involved to be
pure coincidence. However, to paraphrase Fox News once again, "We

science fiction series time traveler in any of his many
incarnations. Doctor Ken Shelton is the man we firmly believe is
lying. Of course lies are nothing new to Saddam's Saddemocrats.
Recall if you will the 2004 fake Dan Rather memo falsely accusing
President Bush on his National Guard record. The Big Lie is nothing
new to these people. They are masters of The Big Lie. We think
Shelton is falsely accusing Virginia Republican US Senator George
Allen. We believe that what Shelton is saying is absolutely
untrue. "During a deer hunt with Allen in the early 1970s" Shelton
lied, "Allen asked whether black families lived in the area before
stuffing a female deer's head into the mail box of a black
household. "George insisted on taking the severed head, and I was a
little shocked by that," Shelton lied. "This was just after the
movie `The Godfather' came out with the severed horse's head in the
bed," Shelton lied to the AP. Doug Jones, who said he roomed with
Shelton at Virginia, said in a statement that he never saw or heard
anything from Allen that supports Shelton `s claims. "I never heard
George Allen use any racially disparaging word nor did I ever
witness or hear about him acting in a racially insensitive manner,"
Jones said."

Union Leader Charged With Racketeering

A seven-term assemblyman and labor leader who was credited with
revitalizing the nation's biggest municipal labor council was
arrested on federal racketeering charges today and accused of
stealing more than $2 million in union and public money.
The indictment charges the union leader, Brian McLaughlin, with a
pattern of thefts over the last decade, including siphoning $95,000
from bank accounts for a Little League for the children of union
members; installing a relative to head a commission on the dignity
of immigrants, then collecting the relative's salary; and using
union members to walk his dog, hang his Christmas lights and
renovate his $760,000 home on Long Island.
Michael Garcia, the United States attorney for Manhattan,
characterized the pattern of thefts as "stunning in its breadth and
scope" at a news conference today. "This case lends a new meaning to
the term, `hand in the till,' " Mr. Garcia said. "It is a case about
greed."
Mr. McLaughlin faces up to 500 years in prison if convicted of 44
counts in the 180-page indictment, including fraud, embezzlement,
money laundering, the use of phantom employees and receiving cash
and other bribes from companies that employed union members.
"His Midas touch turned everything into gold," said Andrew Arena,
special agent in charge of the New York Office of the Federal Bureau
of Investigation.
The indictment alleges that Mr. McLaughlin used members of his
electrical union, while they were on the union clock, to perform
personal tasks for him, like installing and removing appliances,
painting, changing light bulbs, hanging picture frames, shoveling
snow, hanging Christmas lights, fixing plumbing, removing garbage,
changing locks and cleaning out a barn.
The thefts were not limited to his position as labor council
president, officials said.
The indictment charges that, as founding member and district leader
of the William Jefferson Clinton Democratic Club of Queens, a
nonprofit club that raised money to support candidates for public
office, Mr. McLaughlin misappropriated more than $19,000 for
personal expenses, like the rent at his Albany home, and to install
a wide-screen plasma television at the home of "a person with whom
he maintained a personal relationship."

U.S. Sen. George Allen, R-Va., is accusing challenger Jim Webb of
anti-Semitism for spotlighting Allen's newly acknowledged Jewish

In addition to posts on Democratic blogs focusing on Allen's
lineage, Wadhams cited Webb's use of a controversial handbill during
the primary campaign as evidence of anti-Semitism.
"Anti-Semitic themes run through the Webb campaign," Wadhams
said. "I distinctly make that assertion and that charge."
During the Democratic primary, Webb was criticized for a flier
featuring a cartoon likeness of his Jewish opponent, Harris Miller,
with a large nose and cash spilling from his pockets.
Last night, the Allen campaign issued a statement in which two
Jewish Republicans U.S. Rep. Eric I. Cantor of Virginia and U.S.
Sen. Norm Coleman of Minnesota-attacked Webb.
"Appeals to bigotry fail in Virginia, because Virginians look to a
person's integrity and character," said Cantor. "Jim Webb is failing
this test for integrity."
Coleman said, "Former Naval Secretary Webb's campaign is sailing in
dirty and dangerous waters when it plays the religious card. The
voters of Virginia should sink this vessel and wash away any effort
to question Senator Allen's faith or heritage."
Wadhams referred to posts on Democratic blog sites that address
Allen's Jewish ancestry, ...
On several blogs, some friendly to Webb, posts chided Allen for his
fierce reply to the question by a Washington television station.
Others poked fun at the senator or raised questions about his

afternoon's "Hardball" to the n-word story, and not one second to
the driving-through-the-black-neighborhood story?
Matthews opened Hardball with an extended segment featuring Patricia
Waring, who in 1978 was apparently the wife of the coach of the
University of Virginia rugby club team. She claims that, attending
one game, she overheard George Allen telling a story in which he
repeatedly used the n-word. She says she confronted him about it,
asking him not to use the word.
Waring acknowledged that she is a registered Democrat and party
volunteer.
After the Waring interview, Matthews pored over the implications for
Allen's political prospects with guests Howard Fineman of Newsweek,
Matthew Continetti of the Weekly Standard, MSNBC analyst Craig
Crawford and Mike Allen of Time magazine.
At the same time, a Washington Post story that Rush Limbaugh
discussed today [that only managed to make it into WaPo's `B'
section, in contrast with the front-page treatment the Post accorded
the Allen allegations] contains some shocking assertions.
Dan Cragg describes himself as "a longtime friend of Webb's who
worked for him when he was assistant secretary of defense under
President Ronald Reagan." He told the Post that in addition to
hearing Webb use the n-word in his presence, Webb told him that when
he was a student at USC in Los Angeles :
"[Webb and friends] would hop into their cars, and would go down to
Watts with these buddies of his," Cragg said Webb told him. "They
would take the rifles down there. They would call them [epithets],
point the rifles at them, pull the triggers and then drive off
laughing. One night, some guys caught them and beat . . . them. And
that was the end of that."

Israeli aide: New Jersey governor ruined my life
Golan Cipel, former aide to New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey, gives
his version
of events for the first time

Since the case made waves on two continents over two years ago,
Golan Cipel has
been hiding from the media. The story of the relationship between
the governor
of New Jersey and the advisor from Israel was all over the American
and Israeli
papers, but until now Cipel has refused to be interviewed. With the
publication
of former New Jersey Governor James McGreevey's tell-all book The
Confession,
Cipel has decided to break his silence.
Since the story died down, Cipel has attempted to lead a quiet
life. "It took me
a long time to find work," he notes.
"At first I wanted to continue my struggle from abroad, but after I
saw that my
family was being attacked by journalists I decided to conduct my
struggle from
Israel . The whole story is painful. What hurts the most is that my
entire life
I've kept my integrity, and suddenly I got involved in this case
because of
someone else. I wanted to get married, to have a family, and because
of him I've
lost a good many years of my life.
"When I returned to Israel my feeling was that this man would try to
return to
public life, and that's what's happening now. That's why I'm no
longer prepared
to remain silent. Why is he writing a book? If his only concern was
his two
daughters, the two families he destroyed, he would have focused on
his personal
life. But he needs the public's sympathy, the applause, for them to
love him.
That was his main motivation for getting into politics."
A meeting in Rishon Lezion
The case exploded in August 2004 when James McGreevey held a press
conference in
which he confessed his homosexuality, told of a long affair he'd had
with Golan
Cipel, and claimed that Cipel had blackmailed him. Cipel vehemently
denied the
charges, claiming he'd been sexually harassed by the governor and
had never had
sex with him.
An FBI investigation examined both the blackmail allegations and the
sexual
harassment charges, but the case was closed and none of the people
involved was
put on trial.
Cipel and McGreevey met for the first time in Rishon Lezion when a
group of
politicians from New Jersey was on a visit to Israel . McGreevey, an
ambitious
and charismatic politician, was then mayor of Woodbridge Township ,
New Jersey ,
and Cipel was spokesman for Rishon Lezion.
The two hit it off immediately, and McGreevey, who was considering
running for
governor, promised Cipel a PR position. For Cipel, who'd previously
served as
spokesman for the Israeli Consulate in New York and parliamentary
advisor to MK
Avi Yehezkel, this was a golden opportunity.
Cipel was 32 when he started working for McGreevey. In his first two
years, he
says, nothing happened that would give him an indication of what
awaited him in
the future.
And then, in the narrow corridor?
Cipel will never forget the fateful encounter in the governor's home.
"He called me to a meeting in his home. His wife was in the hospital
on
pregnancy bed rest. There was a guard outside. We started to talk,
and then he
suggested that we go to the bar for a drink. I told him that this
wasn't
acceptable. He said that he was a regular guy, that he didn't intend
to change
his habits; that he'd grown up in this neighborhood.
"I went with him, after all, I was his aide. The guard came with us.
We went to
the bar, and there everyone really did know him and shook his hand.
I don't like
beer. I didn't want to drink. He laughed at me in front of everyone
and kept
drinking.
"At a certain point he suggested that we go home. He told me that he
needed to
speak with me. When we left the bar he bought Jegermeister at a
store and took
the bottle home. At home he spoke with me about work. I listened
patiently, took
notes, and he drank and tried to convince me to drink. He
accompanied me to the
door, and then he remembered that he had something on the second
floor, that was
related to work and that he wanted to show me.
"He went up, and I went up after him in the narrow corridor.
Suddenly he pushed
me into the room and jumped on me. We began to struggle. I shook him
off me. He
stopped and there was an awkward moment. I was in total shock. This
was the man
I'd so respected, a nice man, and suddenly I see before me an
entirely different
person, an insane person with an insane look in his eyes.
"I thought to myself: `How did this happen to me? God, how did this
happen?' I
asked him why he thought that I'm gay, and he said to me that
everyone is a bit
gay."
How did the evening end?
"I went home and I couldn't sleep the whole night. I kept
thinking, `What do I
do, how do I work now?' I knew that in a case like that, with such a
strong and
dangerous man against me, there's nowhere to escape to. I went into
a process of
denial. My mind was a maelstrom of fear, of confusion.
"I knew that I had nowhere to go. Where could I go, to the cops?
They were part
of his office. To the attorney general? Part of his office. They're
his people.
I knew that the guy had power, and if I endangered him I'd be in
trouble. The
next day he acted as if nothing had happened."
And what happened afterwards?
"The second incident occurred after he broke his leg. He called me
and asked me
to come to him for a work-related matter. His young aide was in the
house and
his wife and baby as well. The governor lay on a special hospital
bed that was
in the living room. The baby was on the floor, and his wife and his
aide were
speaking in the living room.
"Suddenly he took out his p---s and started mas----bating and
moaning next to me.
He tapped the bed and motioned for me to come sit with him. I looked
at him and
I saw that insane look in his eyes. I said to him, `Your baby is in
the room,'
but he didn't bat an eyelash and kept moaning. I decided to leave
the house.
"The aide decided to leave the house with me. He walked in the
governor's
direction to say goodbye and shake his hand. The governor pulled him
over by
force and tried to kiss him on the lips. The aide pushed him, looked
in my
direction, saw that I'd taken in what had happened, and then I
realized that I
wasn't the only one who knew those things about him."
But you still didn't leave after the second time...
"That's where my mistake was. I said to myself that there are
several other
people who know about his harassment and they manage with it, so
I'll manage
with his problem too. In retrospect it was a mistake. You have to
confront
people like that in spite of the shame, the fear, and the confusion.
"At that point I should have complained. The intoxication with power
led him to
do these things, and he was intoxicated with his power. He used to
tell me that
only God was above him. The problem is that if you don't complain,
in the end
you'll be accused of agreeing to it. And ultimately that's what
happened to me."
When did you lodge a complaint?
"For several months nothing happened and I thought I could manage
with it, but
the third time he attacked me during a trip to Washington in his
car. During
that incident I almost attacked him back. I was close to doing that.
I intended
to hit him back. After the third time I decided to leave.
"From the moment I left the governor tried to control me from afar.
I ran away
to New York . I left everything without telling a soul, but then the
campaign of
persecution began. I was astonished that since the first incident
I'd been
followed, my mail had been read, my phone lines had been tapped,
notes had been
left on my car. I felt like I was in the movie `The Firm' with Tom
Cruise. The
governor himself would tell me that I'm with him until the day I
die, until I'm
deep in the earth."
In the end it was McGreevey who decided to come out of the closet
and explode
the story. Cipel found himself in the middle of a worldwide scandal.
"I went through a very tough time. I was fighting a huge corrupt
system with
connections in the American media. I was accused of attempting to
blackmail the
governor."
How did your family and friends in Israel respond?
"Here I got tremendous support. There's a difference between
Americans and
Israelis. Israelis don't buy stories and don't buy the politicians'
Hollywood
show. In America they believe politicians more. But the governor
destroyed my
life. Everything that I'd built I lost because of him. I never
thought I'd be
involved in a case like this.
"On the other hand I encouraged myself: I fought back, this giant of
a man was
brought down, and his entire corrupt apparatus was brought down.
Little me
brought down the big governor. That's the thing that gives me
strength. He won
the PR battle, but I won the war. It's a fact. The governor
resigned."
The story is totally different in the governor's book. He talks of a
relationship you two had.
"I know this guy very well. Once we were talking about politicians
involved in
scandals, and he said to me that the simple thing you have to do is
to stand up
in front of the American people and apologize. He told me that
Americans are a
softhearted compassionate people. They always forgive their leaders.
He's trying
to turn the whole case into a story that's just about gays.
"That's why it's important to me now to tell my story. I never had
anything with
him, he didn't kiss me and there was nothing personal between us. It
could be
that he's confusing me with one of his other aides. But I'm Israeli
and so I was
different from the others: I was pushed into a corner until I
decided to wage
war. And I'm not gay at all.
"He himself wrote in the book that there's a chance that Golan isn't
gay, but he
thought that if he had a relationship with me perhaps he'd succeed
in moving me
to the other side. That sentence proves everything."

and Washington at the same time they were officially condemmed by
them, the same was true of Iraqi chemical weapons development. The
Iraqis would frequently order BNL to provide funds to finance a huge
petrochemicals complex called PC2, located above seventy kilometers
south of Baghdad, near the natural gas feeder lines that came from
the southern oil fields. PC2 was to be the pride of the Iraqi
military establishment because it had the support of contractors
from the United States, Japan, Italy, France and Britain. More
significant, as Western intelligence agents knew, although PC2 would
manufacture normal petrochemicals upon completion, like many of
Saddam's disquised operations, it would be dual-use. This meant it
would be able to generate chemical compounds needed to make mustard
gas and nerve gas as well. The head of Iraq's chemicals industry,
Lieutenant General Amer Hamoudi al Saadi, was proud of PC2. Al Saadi
was himself a dual operative-his other job was as head of Saddam's
ballistic missile and chemical weapons programs, reporting to

Associated Press April 11, 2000 WASHINGTON (AP) - Less than two
years after the government sold its uranium business, the private
company it created to take on the job is mired in financial
quicksand. The deal is also jeopardizing a crucial nuclear security
agreement with Russia , critics say. USEC Inc.'s (NYSE:USU -news)
first 20 months as a private company have been anything but smooth.
Its stock has dropped 70 percent, its credit rating is in junk bond
territory, and its earnings have nose dived. Amid the financial
turmoil, lawmakers and others are questioning the sale. A
congressional investigation has been under way for a year, with the
first public hearings scheduled this week. While investors have
lost millions of dollars, some of the people who pushed hardest for
an initial stock offering have profited handsomely.
"A number of lobbyists, company insiders and investment bankers made
a killing financially," said Charles Lewis, director of the Center
for Public Integrity, a private government watchdog.
In all, Wall Street bankers, Washington lawyers and lobbyists - many
with close ties to the Clinton administration - earned more than $75
million on the $1.9 billion sale, according to contracts and
interviews. Among those talking up the stock offering in 1998 on
Capitol Hill and in the White House were Susan Thomases, a New York
lawyer and confidante of Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Greg Simon,
formerly Vice President Al Gore's domestic policy adviser. The law
firm of Skadden Arps, which represented President Clinton in the
Paula Jones case, was USEC's lead attorney in the deal."

Joseph Wilson has been a leading spokesman for critics who accuse
President Bush of basing his case for war against Iraq on forged
documents purporting that Iraq attempted to buy uranium from Niger.
Wilson's charge has been discredited by a Senate investigation,1 but
what
remains unanswered are questions arising from what is now known
about French
intelligence's role...The role of France and Wilson in undermining
Bush's case
for war looks particularly curious in light of disclosures about
Saddam
Hussein's bribery of foreign political and business figures during
the course of
the Oil-for-Food program from 1996 to 2003. Saddam's web of graft
spun in many
directions: among others, to UN officials,Russian and Chinese oil
companies,
British critics of Tony Blair's Iraq policies, and US critics of
President
Bush's Iraq policies, as well as France. Near the center of the web
was the
Banque Nationale de Paris, where Iraq's Oil-for-Food revenues were
initially
kept until 2001, when they were redistributed among several
undisclosed banks
approved by Iraq. Meanwhile French oil company TotalFinaElf received
Oil-for-Food vouchers and held a contract to develop oil fields in
southern
Iraq.2
Already in December 2001, Russia had announced it would not support
a US attack on Iraq.3 Then shortly after President Bush's January
29, 2002 State of the Union Address named Iraq as a member of a
terrorist-sponsoring "Axis of Evil", France announced on February
22, 2002 that Europe would not support a US attack on Iraq.4 French
intelligence soon began a campaign to discredit the US case for war
against Iraq. In 1999, French intelligence had begun investigating
the security of uranium supplies in Niger, where uranium production
was controlled by a consortium led by the French mining company
COGEMA, a division of the French state-owned nuclear energy firm
AREVA.
Wilson, a lifetime Francophile, had spent the bulk of his diplomatic
career in former French African colonies like Niger.7 His second
wife from 1986 to 1998, Jacqueline, had served the French embassy in
Burundi as a "cultural counselor" (a function often used as a cover
by French intelligence).8 From Wilson's experience in Niger he was
familiar with the Niger uranium industry. Additionally, he had
worked in Iraq during the days leading up to the Gulf War.
(Intriguingly, on the eve of Iraq's invasion of Kuwait Wilson had
dined at the home of an arms dealer who bought weapons for Iraq from
France; a Vanity Fair profile on Wilson mentions his wife's presence
at this event, but Wilson's book states "I was the only guest.").9
Wilson ran his company out of the offices of an investment company
called Rock Creek Corporation. Rock Creek was controlled by Mohammed
Alamoudi, whom Wilson had met in 1997 at a reception organized for
the World Bank by Westar Group. Alamoudi was a member of the Saudi-
Ethiopian Alamoudi dynasty, which was heavily invested in the
segments of the African economy Wilson was seeking to penetrate. The
Alamoudi-affiliated company Delta Services-a Swiss subsidiary of the
Saudi company Delta Oil-handled Iraqi oil export contracts in 2000
and 2001 and was revealed in 2003 as a recipient of Iraqi Oil-for-
Food vouchers channeled through Abu Abbas, a Palestinian terrorist
with Iraqi connections. Delta Services also cooperated with
Afghanistan's Taliban regime in a project to build an oil pipeline
from Afghanistan to Pakistan, prior to this project's suspension in
1998. In 1999, Alamoudi was accused by USA Today reporter Jack
Kelley of heading a bank which was being investigated for financing
Al Qaeda. USA Today printed retractions of several details in
Kelley's article in 2004, after another member of the Alamoudi
family-Abdurahman Alamoudi, a prominent American Muslim
lobbyist-was
indicted on terror-related charges involving a Libyan-backed
conspiracy to assassinate Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah.
Abdurahman was ultimately convicted in October 2004 and sentenced to
23 years in prison.12 Under Mohammed Alamoudi's direction, Rock
Creek was chaired by Elias Aburdene, an Arab-American international
banking advisor and lobbyist who had previously advised banks linked
to organized crime and intelligence community figures involved in
the S&L Scam. In 2003 and 2004 Aburdene donated to the Sandhills
Political Action Committee, which was affiliated with Senator Chuck
Hagel, 13 a leading Republican critic of the Bush administration's
Iraq policy.14
While Wilson was pursuing his foreign investment ventures, he also
served as a foreign policy advisor to the 2000 Presidential campaign
of Al Gore. A company the Gore family had a long-term relationship
with, Occidental Petroleum, shared business interests with Alamoudi-
affiliated companies in Africa and the Middle East, and employed as
Vice President for Middle East business Odeh Aburdene,24 who shared
a complex network of relationships with Rock Creek's Elias Aburdene
and Joseph Wilson-notably, all three contributed to Arab-American
Congressional Caucus leader Nick Rahall,25 who supported Muslim
lobbying groups linked to terrorists and opposed military action in
Iraq.26 Abdurahman Alamoudi also contributed to Rahall, and sat on
the steering committee of Arab Americans for Clinton/Gore `96 along
with his associate James Zogby, who later advised Gore's 2000
Presidential campaign.27 Wilson had worked as an aide to Gore from
1985 to 1986 and had developed a friendly relationship with him.
Wilson says Gore was the first person outside the State Department
to contact him expressing support when he was caught in Iraq in the
middle of the diplomatic crisis leading up to the Gulf War. In 1997
Gore recommended Wilson to President Clinton to help him plan a trip
to Africa. When Wilson began publicly opposing Bush's Iraq policy in
2002, Gore was still considered a potential candidate in the 2004
election. Gore's speeches were then being sponsored by the antiwar
group Moveon.org, which Wilson would support in September 2003 in an
attempt to petition Congress against appropriating funds for Iraq
operations.28 Moveon.org was financed by billionaire George Soros,29
who had business interests encompassing, among other things, the BTC
Pipeline that Mohammed Alamoudi's Delta Oil was helping build.30
Later, after Gore announced in December 2002 that he would not be
running in the 2004 campaign,31 Moveon.org began supporting John
Kerry's campaign.32 Wilson began advising Kerry's campaign on
foreign policy matters around May 2003, several months prior to his
public entry into the Niger uranium controversy.33
Another question that might be raised is why Wilson and the CIA's
investigation did not explore at least the possibility of the French-
led company COGEMA covertly allowing Niger to sell uranium to Iraq.
In Wilson's book, while explaining the method that led him to
conclude the report of Niger selling uranium to Iraq was false,
Wilson explains that he ruled out the possibility of an off-the-
books transaction partly because "COGEMA, as the managing partner,
would have had to know and be complicit."37 This seems to rule out a
priori the very thing Wilson was sent to investigate, and in the
process, to rule out the possibility of French complicity in arming
Saddam Hussein's regime, which seems a hasty exoneration in light of
the fact that France had a long history of selling Iraq military
equipment and resisting UN sanctions against Iraq.38 It is now known
that in fact French companies were helping Iraq skirt UN
sanctions.39"

terrorism expert Steven Emerson has noted in Congressional
testimony, CAIR co-sponsored a May 24, 1998, all-day program in the
Walt Whitman Auditorium of Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York.
As Mr. Emerson testified, "In Arabic,Wagdi Ghuniem, a militant
Islamic cleric from Egypt, mesmerized his audience, with his
relentless tirade against the Jews, reminding them of the
Jews' `infidelity,' `stealth' and `deceit.' Known for his folksy
deliveries and exhortations to commit violence against the Jews,
Ghuniem did not disappoint his crowd, several of whom had come just
to hear him. The conflict with the Jews, he said, was not over land
but one of religion. `The problem of Palestine is not a problem of
belief. suppose the Jews said "Palestine-you [Muslims] can take it."
Would it then be ok? What would we tell them? No! The problem is
belief, it is not a problem of land.'" Mr. Emerson
continued: "Ghuniem then led his rapt audience, which numbered as
many as 500, in a special song, the audience responsively repeating
each refrain: `No to the Jews, Descendants of the Apes.'" Says Mr.
Pipes: "In short, CAIR represents not the great civilization of
Islam but a radical utopian movement originating in the Middle East
that seeks to impose its ways on the United States. Americans should
consider themselves warned: a new danger exists in their midst."
Relatively speaking, in a manner of speaking we do not know if
Senator George Allen's opponent in the 2006 US Senate race James

George Allen use any racially disparaging word nor did I ever
witness or hear about him acting in a racially insensitive manner,"

You may have heard of George Beam, currently Senior Vice President
of Nuclear Services for AREVA NP Inc., recently Writing about the
imaginary deer hunt, which was really a hunt that never happened
DALE EISMAN, wrote in The Virginian-Pilot on September 28, 2006
about one "George Beam, now an executive at a nuclear engineering
firm based in Lynchburg,(Virginia)."
Beam, wrote Eisman: "was not part of the hunting party." Which is of
course true because there was no hunt and no hunting party to begin
with.
Eisman writes that Beam " told the Associated Press that one of the
hunters, his now-deceased roommate, Bill Lanahan, described the
incident to him later over a beer. "Billy Lanahan told me they cut
the head off a deer and stuffed it in a mailbox. He didn't say whose
idea it was, and he didn't say, at least not in my presence,
anything about a black family or a black neighborhood,"
In our opinion Beam lied to the AP.
Eisman's article continued: "Allen insisted Monday that "The deer
head story is... pure fabrication, absolutely false." The senator
and several of his former classmates also have denied allegations
that he routinely used the "n" word to refer to blacks.
Beam did not return several calls Wednesday from The Virginian-
Pilot...Dick Wadhams, Allen's campaign manager, insisted Wednesday
that there is no evidence to support Shelton `s claim and called
Shelton and Beam "sad and pathetic" for bringing Lanahan, who died
earlier this year, into the dispute. "The incident did not occur.
This gentleman is just piling on to a false story," he said of Beam,
adding later that "I have no idea why he would do it."

Iran, Iraq or North Korea.
"Reprocessing is the chemical separation of the spent fuel into its
three parts-plutonium, uranium, and highly radioactive reactor
waste. Several countries have the capability to reprocess North
Korea's spent fuel, but only two-the United Kingdom and
France -have companies that offer commercial reprocessing
services.\3 These
companies also have direct experience in reprocessing magnox fuel-
the type of
fuel used in
North Korea `s 5-MW(e) reactor.\4 Two companies provide commercial
reprocessing
services-British Nuclear Fuels plc. (BNFL) of the
United Kingdom and Cogema of France-and both have expressed interest
in
reprocessing North Korea's spent fuel.\5 If either of these
companies is
selected to do the reprocessing, under normal circumstances, the
repackaged
spent fuel would be picked up, transported to the company's
reprocessing
facility, and placed in interim storage until it is reprocessed.
Neither company
would normally take title to the spent fuel or the
products of reprocessing so, unless other arrangements are made, the
separated materials would be stored for up to 5 years and,
eventually, returned to the country of origin. The specific terms of
the commercial arrangement would be defined in a contract between the
parties. According to BNFL, other matters-such as ownership and
liability for the fuel after its removal-would be defined in letters
between the governments. According to BNFL, reprocessing
North Korea `s spent fuel would result in approximately 25 kilograms
of
plutonium, 50,000 kilograms of uranium, and 160 liters (one
canister) of
high-level waste. If the spent fuel is reprocessed, the separated
plutonium and
uranium would
be purified and converted into stable compounds that can be safely
stored until final disposal.\6 The separated uranium and plutonium
could be used as fuel for a nuclear power reactor. If not used as
fuel, the plutonium would be disposed of in an underground
radioactive waste repository, and the uranium would be stored for its
economic value and potential use. The radioactive waste would be
mixed with melted glass and poured into a steel canister to harden-a
process called vitrification-and eventually disposed of in an
underground repository.\7
BNFL representatives estimated that it would cost between $50 million
to $100 million to transport and reprocess
North Korea `s spent fuel,
treat the waste, and store the resulting products for up to 5
years.\8 In addition to the cost of reprocessing, costs would also be
incurred for the final disposal of the plutonium and the one canister
of radioactive waste in an underground repository. We could not
determine the costs of disposing of these materials because, among
other factors, the disposal location and the cost of preparing the
materials for disposal are not known.\9"

conversation with another passenger in the back seat of the limo,
the agents say. The missile she hurled was a painful message for him
to mind his own business.
Hillary Rodham Clinton
"The book hit him in the back, and it wasn't lobbed - she was
angry," said a retired uniformed Secret Service officer familiar
with the incident.
"She was under the impression that he was eavesdropping on her
conversation," he
added. "Here he's the driver, but he was eavesdropping? I don't know
how you get
around that."
He said there was no center divider in her vehicle.
"It was in a limo," he said. "There's no separation in hers, not the
one she was
in." The veteran officer, who helped coordinate security in advance
of President
Clinton's trips, says the book was in the back of the limo. "It was
something
that she was carrying."

He said both Clintons viewed Secret Service personnel as "Republican
spies," since many of them worked in the previous Republican
administrations. And they were "very skeptical of us."
Another retired Secret Service veteran, a plainclothes agent
assigned to Clinton's security detail, corroborated the book-
throwing account. "Yeah, it's true," he said, without elaborating.
Though retired from the service, both White House veterans have
found jobs in the Homeland Security Department, and they asked that
their names be withheld.
Attempts to reach the driver assigned to Hillary's protective
detail, also retired from the service and working in another federal
agency, were unsuccessful.
A Washington Metro Police detective also recalled hearing of the
incident at the time, adding that the former first lady "was pretty
sh-ty to the Secret Service guys." Phone calls to Clinton's office
were not returned. The New York senator is on a book tour.
The Secret Service officer who did presidential advance said she
often spoke in "unacceptable language to officers and to agents."
He said the lack of respect stemmed in large part from an overriding
suspicion allegedly held by the Clintons that agents doubled as
Republican plants, relaying dirt to the first couple's political
enemies. Cutting security posts "When they came into office, because
the Republicans were in for so long, they thought everybody in the
Secret Service was a Republican spy," said the Secret Service
veteran, who calls himself an Independent. Soon after they took over
the White House, the Clintons had agents removed from sensitive
areas and permanently eliminated their posts, he says.
"They requested specific posts be removed so that agents in the
uniformed division were out of earshot of the conversations," he
said. "For instance, inside the mansion itself, I know of at least
two [posts] that were relocated," the former agent added. "One was
relocated away from the residence; one was relocated away from the
Oval Office." He said Secret Service brass told agents to keep
an "arm's distance," as much as they could, from the Clintons.
"Even on details, they wanted us where we weren't visible," he
said. "We were all spies, all spies. I mean, it was a big joke," he
said. "We were giving each other secret names, like `Agent X, it's
time for you to be relieved from your post for right now,' as if we
were Soviet agents or something." ...
Her alleged book-throwing tantrum does not fit the cool and
controlled demeanor the freshman senator conveys in public.
But early in the Clinton administration, Newsweek reported that
Hillary had thrown a lamp at the president in a fit of anger. She
later denied the incident took place while suggesting, ironically,
that the Secret Service spread the story."
We of course were not there to witness any of the alleged lamp or
book or Bible throwings by Hillary Rodham Clinton.

February of that year there had been reports in the French media
that the government was planning to sell the aircraft, complete with
Exocet missiles, to Iraq , but the Defence Minister at that time,
Charles Hernu, denied the report. However at the beginning of June,
Hernu signed an agreement with the manufacturers of the aircraft
Dassault and Snecma. Subsequently, Iraqi pilots and technicians
underwent fourteen weeks of intensive training at an airbase at
Cuers." "On the morning of 7 October 1983 five Super Etendards left
the Brittany base of Landivisiau, staging at Corsica before
eventually making a rendezvous with the aircraft carrier Clemenceau
in the Mediterranean . During the following week, the aircraft were
repainted in Iraqi colours whilst checks were carried out to ensure
that the pilots removed all identifying insignia from their personal
equipment and that they were not carrying any incriminating

the American frigate USS Stark, causing the US navy's rules of
engagement to be changed an ultimately resulting in America's direct
involvement in the (Iran-Iraq War in the Persian Gulf )."

"No civilian nuclear program can explain the Iranian nuclear
program. It is a clandestine Iranian military nuclear program,"
But what of that other nation that poses a serious risk of
deliberately or inadvertently providing nuclear weapons to Islamo-
fascist terrorists?
This other nation was willing to give atomic weapons potential to
Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
This other nation that may beget a world of atom-wielding Ayatollahs
is France itself.
At least three paths could lead to the French arming Islamists with
nuclear weapons.
The first path to this doomsday nightmare came to public attention
in June 1981, when Israeli warplanes destroyed a nuclear reactor 18
miles south of Baghdad .
This Osirak reactor was being built by the French for Saddam
Hussein, who had already used nerve gas on his own people and on
Iranians. Hussein had already described himself as the reincarnation
of the ancient Babylonian king and mass murderer Nebuchadnezzer II
who destroyed Jerusalem around 586 BCE.
Had Israel not carried out this preemptive act of Assertive
Disarmament weeks before the reactor became operational, Hussein
could have fabricated nuclear weapons from this reactor's
radioactive output by the time he invaded neighboring Kuwait in
August 1990. The threat that Hussein could then unleash radioactive
devastation on nearby Iranian and Saudi Arabian oil facilities might
have made him too dangerous to attack....
France is among the world's leading sellers of nuclear reactors and
reprocessors and sellers of radioactive reactor fuel. Days after
President George W. Bush struck a nuclear power deal last week
between the U.S. and India , for example, a high member of France `s
National Assembly on Sunday quietly dropped the news to Reuters that
France has agreed to help develop a "peaceful" nuclear power program
for oil-rich Libya `s dictator and longtime terrorism backer Col.
Mohammar Qaddafi.
Amid the controversies over whether Saddam Hussein attempted to
procure radioactive material in Africa, few bothered to note that
the country at the center of this discussion is a former French
colony, Niger .
One of the biggest uranium mine owners and dealers in processed
uranium in Niger is COGEMA, historically 82 percent owned by the
French Atomic Energy Commission and now a subsidiary of the French-
controlled French-German consortium Areva, a major worldwide nuclear
reactor manufacturer and seller....
But, as nuclear scholar Henry Sokolski reported in 2004, "the French
firm Areva," like its international reactor-marketing competitors,
has been "so eager to sell China nuclear-power plants that they and
their governments are turning a blind eye to...a Chinese deal to sell
Islamabad (Pakistan) a large reactor."
Pakistan, the one Islamic nation that already has atomic weapons,
has refused to sign the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT).
Pakistan `s chief atomic weapons scientist secretly provided nuclear
materials and nuclear bomb-making information to other Muslim
states, but after brief imprisonment for this crime he was recently
set free by his government.
The French government not only approved selling its Osirak reactor
and ample radioactive fuel to Saddam Hussein but also threatened to
use its veto as a permanent member of the United Nations Security
Council to prevent Hussein's overthrow.
It later came to light that several of French President Jacques
Chirac's closest political allies were being given millions of
dollars worth of oil certificates by Hussein under the United
Nations Oil-for-Food program that controlled Iraqi oil sales. Was
there also a secret deal with Hussein involving COGEMA, Areva, the
French Government and Niger ?
Can a French Government that was willing to put nuclear weapons
ingredients into the hands of Saddam Hussein be trusted to keep such
materials out of the hands of oil-rich Islamist fanatics? Is France
again willing to sell doomsday weapon capability if the price is
right?...(If the world were sane, of course, France would have
forfeited its nuclear weapons and materials after the Osirak reactor
it was building was destroyed. France has shown that it lacks both
the morality and maturity to be trusted with these dangerous tools
the U.S. and Britain gave it - along with a permanent seat on the
Security Council - following the French complicity with Hitler
during World War II.)... (During World War II the German-aligned
Vichy government in France used its national railroad to transport
76,000 French Jews to their doom in Nazi death camps. Virulent anti-
Semitism is one of the ideologies many French share with their
former Nazi overlords and Islamofascists. French treachery has not

Very interesting stuff going on in the Mary McCarthy files. It
appears many of us missed a few important connections:
One aspect of her background so far comparatively unexamined is her
West African uranium connection. She served in a key government
position concerned with West African nations producing yellowcake
uranium at the same time that Joseph Wilson was working in the
area. The two may be considered members of the "yellowcake
community" within the Clinton national security apparatus of the
1990s. There are more questions than answers for the moment, but
yellowcake uranium is not only of strategic importance for WMD
purposes, it is also a highly profitable commodity traded under UN
supervision and restrictions, a set of circumstances known to
produce extraordinary opportunities for both profit and corruption,
as in Oil-for-Food. These comparatively still waters may run deep.
Investigators equipped with both subpoena power and security
clearance may be called for.
Mary McCarthy held positions in both African and Latin American
analysis desks at Langley while Wilson was U.S. Ambassador to the
Gabonese Republic from 1992 to 1995. Gabon was a producer of
yellowcake uranium. Wilson `s powerful position in Gabon from 1992
to 1995 raises questions about his official trip to Niger to
discredit President Bush's claim that Iraq had sought quantities of
uranium from Africa .
During his time in Gabon , Wilson must have been deeply
knowledgeable about uranium production and trade there, and must
have been familiar with officials of the French energy giant COGEMA,
now consolidated into the French Areva Group, a firm closely
involved with the French government which appoints members of its
board. Joe Wilson has his own French connection.
So, who better to send to Africa to dig up dirt to refute
intelligence findings of both the US and Great Britain concerning
the Iraq-Africa yellowcake trade?
The article then goes into great detail about the loophole the UN
instituted to allow: certain nuclear materials to be maintained and
traded even by countries known to be covertly developing a nuclear
capability or who supported terrorist groups....
Speaking of dealing in commodities, this whole affair brings us back
to square one and Mary McCarthy. One of her previous employers was
Beri, SA. Possibly by coincidence Beri provides a Mineral Extraction
Risk Assessment service for up to 145 countries that are expected to
show rapid growth in oil, gas, and mineral extraction capacity. If
one had advance access to economic intelligence and had fostered
close business ties over the years with uranium producers, huge
financial gains would be possible.... Macranger, the former
intelligence official, believes he knows what is coming next:
I can't tire of telling you how important it is that Mary Loose Lips
has been brought down. More than just a random `discovery' - she is
the key to the lock. Guys at the agency and the DOJ knew exactly
where to target - and they hit it dead on. In the coming days you
will see why Senator Rockefeller HAD to make such an emergency visit

The "here" he is referring to is a Italian article that points out
Rockefeller's business dealings with none other, Cogema.... Cogema
runs the Niger uranium trade.
Getting a little fishy in here as AJ Strata notices:
the Italian story mentions Senator Jay Rockefeller and his unique
efforts against the invasion of Iraq . Among them is mention of "the
relationship of the Senate American ". The story links the UN Oil
For Food program and the Uranium trade (which I showed was possible
in previous posts).
Then the story talks about a connection: "the French of the Cogema
are in transactions with the magnates of the oil, comprised the
group Rockefeller American. " Wow. COGEMA is the French company...
that runs the Niger mines and monitors the uranium. Now I
understand what Mac Ranger meant by this comment:
In the coming days you will see why Senator Rockefeller HAD to make
such an emergency visit to Syria in 2002.
I had not made the connection until now that Wilson and Rockefeller
both raced to the region in 2002! Maybe the heads up Rockefeller was
giving Bathaast Bashir (and therefore Baathist Hussein) was not just
about the pending war. The timing is right. Wilson went to Niger in
February 2002, Rockefeller went to Syria in January 2002. So far
Mac has been dead on in his predictions. This one is going to be a
doozy.
McCarthy now appears to be a little fish in a BIG pond whose scum
layer is getting quite thick.

Former Navy Secretary Virginia US Senate Candidate James Webb has
been a long time opponent of the liberation of Iraq. When he was
Secretary of the Navy he urged that the US attack Saddam's enemy
Iran. While we support the liberation of both Iraq and Iran, it is
clear that the US tilt towards Iraq and against Iran in the Iran-
Iraq war helped to set Iran on its current anti-American path.
That tilt was a major mistake. Webb's role in that tilt as Secretary
of the Navy during part of the Iran-Iraq war is examined briefly
here. Hopefully those who are naive enough to think of former Navy
Secretary Webb as a peacemaker will have their eyes opened by this
brief look at some of his history.

"In January 1987, as the" (Iran-Iraq)"war entered its seventh year
and the combined death toll neared one million people, Iran began
yet another major offensive. This time it pushed deep into Iraqi
territory. Saddam Hussein needed help-but he also required
reassurance from Washington about its intentions, since revelations
in the Iran-Contra scandal were now detailing the U.S. covert
military aid that had been going to his enemy, Iran. From Baghdad's
point of view, Washington was either ambivalent or duplicitous.
Thanks to the rival pro-Iraq and pro-Iran factions inside the
government, the United States had indeed sent out very confusing
signals. Nonetheless, the secret shipments to Iran paled when
compared with the support given Saddam, and William Casey led the
drive to placate Iraq. He had already met with Tariq Aziz at the
United Nations to make sure Iraq was happy with the flow of
intelligence it was receiving, and he encouraged Aziz to go ahead
with more attacks on Iranian economic targets.
Then netural ships in the Persian Gulf began coming under attack
from both Iran and Iraq. Those of oil-rich Kuwait were of particular
concern to the administration. Kuwaiti leaders wanted their oil
tankers protected by either Moscow of Washington, and in March 1987
top U.S. officials including Caspar Weinberger, George Schultz aand
Admiral William Crowe, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
decided to defend Kuwaiti vessels that were navigating the Gulf.
Two months later, on May 17th, pro-Iraqi officials such as
Weinberger suffered an instant case of political whiplash when a
U.S. frigate, the Stark, was attacked by an Iraqi warplane and
thirty-seven Americans on board were killed....The Stark incident
underscored the increasingly risky state of affairs in the Gulf, and
it was followed by a formal announcement from President Reagan that
the United States would reflag Kuwaiti oil tankers so that the U.S.
Navy could escort them."

On May 17, 1987, the Oliver Hazard Perry class frigate, USS Stark
(FFG 31) was hit by two Exocet anti-ship cruise missiles fired by an
Iraqi F-1 Mirage fighter aircraft while operating in the central
Persian Gulf. The explosion of the first missile caused extensive
structural damage and flooding. Combustion of the burning propellant
of both missiles immediately caused intense fires to build
throughout the ship. There were 37 deaths and 5 injuries reported as
a result of the attack.

remembers. My
brother was on the USS Stark and he was one of the survivors. All
men and women
who serve our country in the name of "freedom" and die doing it

additional service opportunities and experience in legislative
issues as the President of the West Virginia Sheriffs' Association,
then on the Ethics Committee of The National Sheriffs' Association.

Wolfe sites Rahall's weak positions on Terrorism, Homeland Security

WASHINGTON-Like many sisters, Tanya Rahall talks to her brother
often. But unlike most sisters, she gets paid handsomely to do it.
Rahall makes $15,000 a month lobbying Congress for the tiny Arab
country of Qatar. And the person she frequently lobbies is Rep. Nick
J. Rahall II, D-W.Va., her older brother and one of Qatar's biggest
champions in Washington. Qatar paid her for helping him craft a
resolution praising the country "for years of Democratic reform,"
even though it remained a monarchy without organized political
opposition. She recruited members of Congress for a pro-Qatar caucus
that he leads and accompanied him and other members on a visit to
Doha, Qatar.
The Rahalls are the latest example of a growing, unregulated
practice in Washington: paying relatives of helpful members of
Congress as lobbyists and consultants.
There are no rules specifically barring members of Congress from
acting on behalf of relatives' clients. Indeed, limits on speaking
fees and campaign donations have made hiring family one of the few
unregulated ways in which special interests can ingratiate
themselves with lawmakers. Rep. Rahall's official congressional
biography does not mention his work on Arab issues. Instead it
focuses on what he has done for West Virginia: protecting coal
mining as the ranking Democrat on the Committee on Resources and
bringing large amounts of federal highway money to the state as the
second senior Democrat on the Committee on Transportation and
Infrastructure. But Rahall, 55, is also the most senior of five
Arab American representatives and is an advocate for Arab countries
in a Congress dominated by pro-Israel members.
In 1993, he was the lone House member of Congress to vote against a
resolution calling for an end to an Arab boycott of Israel. He spent
years pressing the State Department to end a ban on travel to
Lebanon, where his grandfathers were born. He got his wish in 1997.
In 2001, he was one of 11 members of Congress to vote against a
resolution insisting the Palestinian Authority take steps to end a
terrorist campaign-...He flew to Iraq in 2002 to meet with a top
aide to Saddam Hussein ... and voted against going to war. And he
traveled to Syria to meet with President Bashar Assad in 2003, and
voted against increasing sanctions based on allegations that the
country was a state sponsor of terrorism.
Rep. Rahall traveled to Qatar in 1997 and in 2000. According to his
congressional disclosure reports, the first trip was paid for by a
foundation associated with the National Association of Arab
Americans and the second by the Islamic Institute, a group also
known as the Islamic Free Market Institute Foundation.
In 2001, Rahall was invited by the Islamic Institute to be one of
the opening speakers at its first Conference on Democracy and Free
Trade, held in Qatar.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Harshly criticized for saying pressure from the
Jewish community was driving the push toward a possible war against
Iraq, Rep. James Moran stepped down Friday as a House Democratic
regional whip.
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of California issued a
statement indicating she left Moran, D-Virginia, with little choice
but to give up his leadership post.
"I have taken this action because Congressman Moran's irresponsible
remarks were a serious mistake," Pelosi said in a statement. "As I
said earlier this week, his comments were not only inappropriate,
they were offensive and have no place in the Democratic Party."
Moran has been under fire since March 3, when he said at an antiwar
forum that Jewish leaders were pushing a war with Iraq. "If it were
not for the strong support of the Jewish community for this war with
Iraq, we would not be doing this," he said at the forum in Reston,
Virginia. "The leaders of the Jewish community are influential
enough that they could change the direction of where this is going
and I think they should."
The comments drew condemnation from the White House, Jewish leaders,
and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle....
On Wednesday, a number of Jewish House Democrats urged Moran not to
seek re-election in the wake of his comments. In Virginia, several
local Democrats have already expressed interest in challenging Moran
for re-election.
The leader of the Jewish Community Council of Washington said Moran
should consider resigning. Moran, 57, has said he will not give up
his seat....
The Anti-Defamation League was also among those that condemned
Moran's comments.
"This is one voice in the chorus spreading a new lie, the age-old
anti-Semitic canard that when our country faces danger, Jews are
responsible," it said.
"As we move closer to an invasion with Iraq, the drumbeat of `blame
the Jews'-meaning Jews in the administration, the `Jewish lobby' and
the Jewish community-is intensifying and multiplying. "Congressman
Moran's remarks are symptomatic of a more serious problem-that in
times of crisis and anxiety, Jews continue to be a convenient and
tempting option for scapegoating."

U.S. Sen. George Allen, R-Va., is accusing challenger Jim Webb of
anti-Semitism for spotlighting Allen's newly acknowledged Jewish
ancestry on Democratic blogs."There is a common thread that is
running through the Webb campaign," Allen campaign manager Dick
Wadhams said yesterday. "It has a clear anti-Semitic overtone to
it." Webb's press secretary, Kristian Denny Todd, dismissed the
claim as "slash-and-burn campaign tactics" and a bid to "make George
Allen a sympathetic figure by rallying his base against the big, bad
media."
The Allen broadside followed the latest complication for his re-
election effort: confirming he is part Jewish after angrily ducking
a question on his heritage during a debate Monday with Webb. Allen
said his maternal grandfather, an Italian jailed in Tunisia by the
Nazis, was Jewish. Allen said he learned of his grandfather's
religion, in part, after recent discussions with his mother.
Allen's mother, Henrietta, "Etty" Allen, told The Washington Post
yesterday that she concealed her upbringing as a Jew in North Africa
from her children until late August when Allen asked her directly
about his Jewish heritage. She said that she and the senator's
father, former Redskins coach George Allen, had wanted to protect
their children from living with the fear that she had experienced
during World War II.
Allen's mother, who is 83, said she asked her son not to tell his
siblings and his wife. "The fact this is such an issue justifies my
actions, and my behavior," she told the Post.
In addition to posts on Democratic blogs focusing on Allen's
lineage, Wadhams cited Webb's use of a controversial handbill during
the primary campaign as evidence of anti-Semitism.
"Anti-Semitic themes run through the Webb campaign," Wadhams
said. "I distinctly make that assertion and that charge." During the
Democratic primary, Webb was criticized for a flier featuring a
cartoon likeness of his Jewish opponent, Harris Miller, with a large
nose and cash spilling from his pockets.
Last night, the Allen campaign issued a statement in which two
Jewish Republicans U.S. Rep. Eric I. Cantor of Virginia and U.S.
Sen. Norm Coleman of Minnesota-attacked Webb.
"Appeals to bigotry fail in Virginia, because Virginians look to a
person's integrity and character," said Cantor. "Jim Webb is failing
this test for integrity."
Coleman said, "Former Naval Secretary Webb's campaign is sailing in
dirty and dangerous waters when it plays the religious card. The
voters of Virginia should sink this vessel and wash away any effort
to question Senator Allen's faith or heritage."

afternoon's "Hardball" to the n-word story, and not one second to
the driving-through-the-black-neighborhood story?
Matthews opened Hardball with an extended segment featuring Patricia
Waring, who in 1978 was apparently the wife of the coach of the
University of Virginia rugby club team. She claims that, attending
one game, she overheard George Allen telling a story in which he
repeatedly used the n-word. She says she confronted him about it,
asking him not to use the word.
Waring acknowledged that she is a registered Democrat and party
volunteer.
After the Waring interview, Matthews pored over the implications for
Allen's political prospects with guests Howard Fineman of Newsweek,
Matthew Continetti of the Weekly Standard, MSNBC analyst Craig
Crawford and Mike Allen of Time magazine.
At the same time, a Washington Post story that Rush Limbaugh
discussed today [that only managed to make it into WaPo's `B'
section, in contrast with the front-page treatment the Post accorded
the Allen allegations] contains some shocking assertions. Dan Cragg
describes himself as "a longtime friend of Webb's who worked for him
when he was assistant secretary of defense under President Ronald
Reagan." He told the Post that in addition to hearing Webb use the n-
word in his presence, Webb told him that when he was a student at
USC in Los Angeles :
"[Webb and friends] would hop into their cars, and would go down to
Watts with these buddies of his," Cragg said Webb told him. "They
would take the rifles down there. They would call them [epithets],
point the rifles at them, pull the triggers and then drive off
laughing. One night, some guys caught them and beat . . . them. And
that was the end of that."

introduced by Sens. Voinovich, Joseph Biden (D-DE), George Allen (R-
VA), and Gordon Smith (R-OR), requires the State Department to
provide a country-by-country report on anti-Semitic acts and
harassment and the governmental response. The report would also
include information on governmental efforts to promote tolerance and
anti-bias education.
"The Senate has taken an important step to strengthen US efforts to
combat the rise of anti-Semitism around the globe," said Abraham H.
Foxman, ADL National Director and author of Never Again? The Threat
of the New Anti-Semitism (Harper San Francisco, 2003). "In order to
fight anti-Semitism, we must have an accurate assessment of the
scope and nature of the problem in varying regions. So many
countries lack a formal mechanism to channel information about the
problem or to register complaints. While this new report is in no
way a substitute for data collection by individual states, until
appropriate monitoring systems can be put in place, American
leadership in spotlighting the problem will continue to play a vital
role.
Mr. Foxman, who just returned from the Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe Conference on Anti-Semitism in Berlin, where
he was a Public Advisor to the U.S. Delegation added, "passing this
bill indicates the United States' continued commitment to
spotlighting the problem of anti-Semitism around the world and is an
example of the kind of proactive measures a government can take to
fight global anti-Semitism."
The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world's leading
organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services
that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.

billion in grants for computers and technology for historically
black colleges and universities - the measure died in the US House

Senator George Allen proposed that the Senate apologize for its
failure to enact anti-lynching laws in the 1930's and 40's.
In fact Senator Allen is being politically lynched every day in the

We have what we believe is a credible theory about the so-
called "macaca" incident. What we did not know at the time the so-
called "macaca" story appeared was that Senator Allen's mother is

upstart Ned Lamont, the Democratic nominee.

the free flow of ideas," ADL head Abraham Foxman said in a letter
dated Aug. 31 to MoveOn, which supported Lamont in the Democratic
primary against Lieberman. "Nevertheless, since such profoundly

Lamont's independent opponent for the US Senate is incumbent US
Senator Joe Lieberman, the man who was the nominee of the Democrats
for Vice President of the United States in 2000. Lamont's Republican
opponent in the 2006 US Senate race is widely viewed as being
unelectable, thus a vote for that person rather than a vote to re-
elect Senator Lieberman is a wasted vote.

Via Salon, Michael Scherer hits Republican Senator George Allen with
the "ni-r" smear, even though the vast majority of fellow
teammates from Allen's college football days do not support the
claim..... "I don't believe he was insensitive,"
said Paul Ryczek, who played center in Allen's year before joining
the Atlanta Falcons. "He had no prejudices, biases or anything else."
In addition to supporting a Democrat through financial
contributions, which Salon acknowledges, evidently Shelton didn't
tell Salon of his role in starting Tobacco Free For Life.
Why that might matter is because Allen opponents have criticized the
Senator for being friendly to the tobacco lobby. Senator Allen, (R-
VA), has accepted a whopping $33,000 from tobacco political action
committees in just the 2005-2006 election cycle. That's more than any
other member of congress has taken from the tobacco companies in the
past year.
Tobacco Free for Life (TFL) is a grass roots volunteer coalition of
educators, health care professionals, survivors and victims of
tobacco-related illness, and concerned individuals. Our mission is
to prevent and reduce underage tobacco use through education,
awareness and community efforts on a "cost free" basis to the youth
and community of Henderson County.
TFL started in 1996 by Dr. Ken Shelton of Hendersonville
Radiological Consultants and is currently operating out of an office
on the Pardee Hospital campus. Pardee Hospital Foundation acts as
TFL's fiscal agent and provides TFL with 501c3 nonprofit status.
Interesting that Shelton claims that an Allen Presidential candidacy
is what made him so suddenly concerned as to begin writing down
recollections several months ago. Exactly how much prodding did his
memory require if this was so significant at the time?...

To put it bluntly we do not believe Shelton's allegations against
Senator Allen. We hope you do not believe them either. There are
simply too many so-called "coincidences" in the lynching of George
Allen to be anything but what looks to us like a colossal frame up
job. It reminds us of the fake documents used by Dan Rather in an
attempt to smear President Bush in the 2004 Presidential election.
In the 1970s the US Senate convened hearings to determine if the
1972 Presidential election had been interfered with in any way by
the so-called "Watergate" affair. We think that the lynching of
Senator George Allen of Virginia is a much bigger story, involving
as it may, French interference in the 2006 US Senate race in
Virginia in an attempt to defeat Senator Allen, who had been viewed
as among the most likely Republican Presidential nominees for 2008 .
We do not want Paris or any other government picking the next
President of the United States.
