e visits ( for the water , mostly )
from all the local wildlife .
The cattle quite frankly are a pain. I generally don't park right at
the ranch house. I have parked on the hill that just behind the ranch
house Obviously, you stick out like a sore thumb being parked there.
h ah ha ha . yea and the nosey ones , that get brave / curious late
at night , kinda scare you if you spook one ........ those horns are
the scary part .. they could accidently hurt you in their haste to
get away !!! mostly , in the daytime , they are pretty skittish
and don't hang too close unless they are thirsty ! the young ones
are cute and trusting ...........
roger on the hill behind the ranch house ........ you must have
4 wheel drive or a reliable vehicle on rough surfaces !! my lumbering
old 6000 lb. suv is risky to take off the hard pavement ( tho
that road that goes south of the ranch is a good dirt surface ) .
h aha hahaah sometimes , even on a asphalt parking lot ,
when it gets REAL hot .... my old suv sinks ( slightly ) down into
the pavement because it is so heavy !! <g>
ASI has the TTR security contract last time I checked. I think there is
an effort to spread out the contracts on the range so no person gets
too much knowledge. That is, you have Wackenhut at the NTS, ASI at the
TTR, and EG&G at Groom Lake.
makes sense .......... and typical government stuff ........ seems
like those eg&g guys are the most uptight ones tho. my father used
to work for whackynut ...... I'm real familiar with them !
and ....... to answer the bounced email that someone sent to me
.........
just like miso ( and I ) mentioned above , camping at the ranch
house location isn't the best choice for a number of reasons.
the cattle can be a major pain , the security can / will dog you
sometimes if they don't recognize you ( or depending upon what is
going on training wise )
, and the late night animal visits can scare the bejeebers out of
you ....... and keep you up all night.
add to that the ( sometimes seemingly unending ) stream of looky-loos
( not talking about you or I miso ha ha ha ha ) , especially on
weekends can bug the heck out of you as well.
I recommend as an excellent ( and safe ) camping site to stay at
the nice Pharangat wildlife reservation in the campsites on the
paved road part on the left side of the highway. ( down below
the roadway on the big lake ).
right about here ........

a number of people have said excellent things about this place
........... and it's not far from ALL the action and keeps you out
of the security contractor's attention. out of sight , out of mind !
little bit of highway traffic ... but not too bad late at night .
The advantage of hanging out at the Pahranganat Lakes is there are
out-houses. This is much better than digging a cat hole as a Predator
Drone watches.
ha ha ah ahaha ha hah aha ah .. how true ........ ( and they are up
there all the time too ) ..... laughed so hard I almost fell out of
my chair on that one !!!!!!!
Yeah, well I couldn't see the damn thing, but I heard the piece of crap
snowmobile engine. But if you gotta go, you gotta go. I always find a
spot where the Bald-o-cam can't see me. That generally involves
crawling into a wash since Bald Mountain can see plenty. Friday a damn
Beech flew nearby, er, perfectly timed.
Chuck Clark had this project where he was documenting every stinkin'
border marker. He would get the coordinates with his GPS, and take 4
photos (N, E, W, S) . Where the cammo dudes couldn't follow him, they
sent the drone. The FBI raid may have put an end to the project.
