you can't miss it ...... it has a VERY distinctive   exhaust sound.

it's kinda a cross between a Loooooong series of mini / tiny  sonic
booms and  the central Texas  (  ft hood , that is, if you've  ever
lived there )  rain storm  "  chain thunder "  ( a  wobbling
boom that seems to go forever ) .

VERY impressive .... but you don't get long to look for it ..... it

even  hear tell  "  friends  " over the hill in the central  valley
( of california ) corridor    ( the passage to the Pacific  < ocean >
testing  grounds from  nellis / A51  ...  west ,  between  Fresno and
Visallia  .....  n. of   Lemore NAS )  have been hearing the "
rumblings " as well , lately  ...... and frequently too .   they hear
it but can't see it . they say it seems VERY high in alt....  but , so
far ... leaves NO con trail .    the visual trick  of using a Lumicon
ionized  oxygen - H beta  filter in a C-10  ( that reveals the con
trail of the aircraft with the spiral exhaust  )  doesn't work
on this aircraft  ( if that's what it is ) !  dunno if you use that
emission line filter  trick yourself , but evidently it won't help
with this  new " toy " .

rumor has it that " no one " is behind the wheel ..... doesn't even
have a " wheel " !!!    dunno  myself ..... it's just a rumor
...........  < g >   it might even be a new kind of high speed
flying bomb  for all  we know , but probably a new UAV !
( is there a difference ?/ ha ha ha ha  )

it sounds interesting .... and it'd be nice if you could get a picture
or two of THAT puppy .... it's  " hang'in "  out here somewhere ,
 I hear tell !   not too close to the " glow in the dark "  liquid
metal highway ,  I think ....  or if  it is ...... it can take off and
land very quietly  ( as compared to how it can sound aloft )  !

just a heads up ....... maybe you can snap a couple
of   photos  so we can all  get to see what it looks
like , especially that engine !

I haven't heard any such rumors. To fly over commercial airspace with
minimal ATC interference, you need to be above 60kft. Still, there is
high altitude ATC on the usual freqs. I'm always skeptical of reports
of military testing that isn't over MOAs or SUA.
