The Stewart Island facility is hollowed out within a rise known as Mt. Anglem.

The cuts in the mountain side which were necessary to let ships in and out were kept as small as possible and were well camouflaged.

There is a hiking trail along the coast, between the sea and Mt. Anglem. Are the naval ships supported on hiking boots when they cross the hiking trail, to camouflage the signs of their crossing?
