It's pretty well understood that the stresses of industrialized
beekeeping is pushing hives over the limit. Organic hives that aren't
trucked around aren't disappearing. It's basically stress from overuse
of the bees.

If you raise almonds (or whatever), just maintain your own hive and life
goes on.

Have Africanized bees had an effect on the hives and pollinixation(sp)
in general?
Just curious as I read Africanized bees were more violent and were
taking over hives PBS and was curious if they were less inclined to
pollinate or
do positive pollinization/work as per non-africanized bees...

The African strain of bees is not necessarily violent but
significantly more aggressive than the more common Italian strains
found in US apiaries. With this aggression comes a better work ethic
evidentally.

A  better "work ethic"? Let me get this straight... Africanized bees
are migrating to the US from Central America without permission. It
sounds like they are doing the work that American bees don't want to
do.
