What you have with any lens is the center is bright and the edges are
dark. You don't notice this until you crank up the contrast. This is
very evident when you use a reflector telescope, but still present in
a refractor telescope. Now unfortunately, when you crank up the
contrast, this effect is more evident.  Technically, I should be
"field flattening" prior to cranking up the contrast. However, my copy
of PixlInsight isn't running. I will try to get it going before doing
the panorama.

Look at the panoramas on the net of Groom Lake. You can spot the
individual images that make up the composite by counting the bright
spots.
