I'm not sure OPEC have any more oil to pump (peak oil) - I think the

telling the truth about how much oil they have... If they could pump
more they would.

The real problem is the financial types don't deal with today, they deal with tomorrow

Agreed.

It is sad what is happening in the US today - the manufacturing base
is gone. I can only count a few major US manufacturing companies that
export. I was in Seattle recently, good to see the Boeing plant, but
what else is there on a large scale? Microsoft is a big exporter,
Hollywood yes, music too. But the old stalwarts the car industry is
on it's last legs - I always buy Ford, but they aren't that good
compared to Jap cars.

The Gulf war was a mistake - and how much is it costing? Billions. I
support the US 100% in its fight against terror - but the strategy is
all wrong.

Trickle down economics never worked. You wouldn't have poor people
otherwise.

Richard B. Cheney is the worst President ever!

They still pump oil in Texas, been there seen it smelt it :-)

In 1859, oil was successfully drilled in Titusville.

Billions? We're talking 12 billion a week into the Iraq rat hole. We
build it, they blow it up. We build more. They blow up more.

There is much tech gear made in the states you don't see unless you
have a need to use it. Agilent (the old HP) is a good example of
mostly made in the US gear. There is all sorts of medical gear made
here. Laser products, stuff like that. Silicon Valley has plenty of
manufacturing, but not much consumer gear. There isn't much stuff
made in the states in volume.
