I knew there must be something ominous about that date. October 7th is the
date I first climbed Tikaboo and saw Area 51.
That's pretty interesting that you know when you did the hike. I
really need to log my trips.
October is a good time to do the hike if you want to carry less weight
(assuming you are camping out over night). I find I can get by with 6
liters in the fall, but need 9 liters in the summer.

I hiked it in November either before or after the Nellis open house.
[See what I mean about needing to keep records.] The cold was
tolerable at night, but everything in the tent was covered with
condensation when I woke up. A good thing all the photo gear was
packed and remained dry, but my scanner and recorder were soggy.
