For the record, I have never tampered with any road sensor, just noted
them, published their locations, pointed them out to TV crews, etc.
Part of my mantra was never to break the law so the authorities would
never have anything to get me on. I was informally studying the law at
the time. I'd go right up to the line (whatever that legal line was)
but never cross it.

It was always much more amusing to me to know where the sensors were
(and complain to the BLM about them) than to steal them -- which is
the sort of thing dim-witted thing Chuckie would have done.

BTW: Chuckie's a moron -- and I mean that affectionately.

Steve Douglass, in a memorable anti-Campbell rant on Dreamland Resort,
has accused me of sending him a road sensor, but I really don't recall
doing so. Call it convenient amnesia, but it doesn't sound like
something I would have done. I think he is confusing me with someone
else.

Anyway, Steve Douglass is old and fat and smells of cod liver oil.

Have you heard of trainspotters? They are those male geeks who think
it is just so thrilling to hang around train yards and collect the
numbers of the engines passing through. That's what we have here:
numbers geeks who have nothing better to do with their lives but
collect reams of useless military data... tail numbers, frequencies,
call signs. I was one of them once, so I understand the seduction, but
you got to get a life sooner or later.
