The funny thing about base history is regarding Tom and Glenn's first
Tikaboo. They get to the peak and find a wall of stone that someone
had already built to hide behind. So just who was that person(s)? My
guess is someone built it as a place to spy independent of Freedom
Ridge, since Freedom Ridge and then White Sides was the focus of the
base security.
What's the date on that USGS (or whatever agency)
monument that's up there? Does it pre-date the base?
RR Ties and all that stuff up there. Somebody
went to considerable trouble to make camp
comfortable. Perhaps A-51 related, perhaps
Nuke Test related, perhaps prior to even
all of that when some hikers/hunters
wanted a good viewpoint.
