The particular version I am running is beta. It uses the higher
resolution database and can handle larger amounts of data. It still
needs a lot of work. Note that the graphics I provide is reduced via
GIMP. The files exceed 200kpixels on a side, but Google Earth can only
handle about 3000 pixels on a side You need to break up the image into
smaller pieces for GE. What really need to be done if for the program
to break up the image into smaller pieces. I also have to select the
overlay itself via GMP and use the alpha layer to make it
transparent.
In your experience how hardware demanding is Splat? In other words,
would it run acceptably on an older, not particularly powerful dual
boot laptop (Ubuntu/XP)?
