Now I'm totally confused.....Was the Glen Campbell interview about
medical insurance?
You gotta luv the Intertubes.....
No, but according to Hiram, Glenn's world is coming
apart because he's not supporting the drug companies.
Ho hum...
So many little people in the world.
Can't we just kill off a few million
so that the rest of us logical thinkers
will have more room to play?

Now I see why and where people go who get the boot from other
discussion forums. Glenn must be sitting back and really laughing at
this. He does what he wants to do. I envy that, but I am feel so
much more safe and secure with my insurance and a roof over my head!!!
Yeah, but I got the boot for giving George Knapp some photos that I
took. Silly me, I didn't know the entire base was copyrighted by
another website. ;-)
Anyway, you guys keep this up and I'm going to turn this car right
around.
Lazy G Ranch photos are the best on the net! If you have to boot
somebody from a discussion forum for the reasons Miso and Lumpy got
booted, there is something wrong. Lazy G Ranch is one of the most
informative sites on Area 51 and to not have Miso in on the discussion
forum is ridiculous. Oh well. I guess everybody has their own
reasons for doing things. It is his site! When is LazyGRanch going
to start a discussion forum????
The forum is in the works, but it won't be for the lazygranch. I'm
doing another website with someone else. [Domain purchased, hosting
purchased, working on content.] The theme will be general
"spookiness", not strictly Area 51, with the emphasis of go out there
and do some investigating on your own. We need more people poking
around other facilities. Besides, why should the camo dudes be the
only ones having fun with visitors? The goal for the new site is also
to make it more smart phone friendly. Somebody at say Nellis should be
able to easily post what they spotted without have to try to negotiate
a stupid webpage based forum. Smartphones are really at their best
with simple messaging.
Regarding boots on the ground and eyeball on the prowl, take for
example your decal in the back of the white truck. It was probably
parked there a hundred times, but somebody with the interest has to be
there to snap the photo. You just can't have enough eyes poking around
these places. Base Camp is another example. They can get away with
crap there because nobody bothers to investigate the place. I doubt
more than a hundred vehicles pass Base Camp in a day.
I agree completely. I head out to Area 51 maybe three to four times a
month just to see what is up! Any time frame estimate on the new
site. It sounds great!
I'll probably do a desert trip this month and will use some imagery
for the new website. So I'd say 2 months to go live. As you can guess,
it will be advert free. What I did was just buy a new name, then
downgraded the Lazygranch account since I wasn't using all the
storage. [I was in a particular plan, and to remain competitive, the
hosting company removed the bandwidth limit and boosted the amount of
storage. [Every year, the net gets cheaper. Business plans are based
on that happening.] Incidentally, the server is in Las Vegas, though I
don't know where.
I'm not sure when I'll head out. Weapons school should be balls out
for the first two weeks of June since that is their graduation time.
[ME phase.] So that is often a good show. However, the last two weeks
of the month are good for radio monitoring since weapons school is not
active. That is, you are more likely to catch them doing testing at
the TTR or Groom Lake because there is less chatter on the radio. The
same goes for the month of December, but that is a nasty time to be on
the range. I'm hoping the current lightning storms you guys are having
will settle out once the weather stops changing.
I did a Tikaboo during ME phase once and saw a Maverick missile
launch. It looked like it was heading straight for me, but then arced
down to it's target. The pilot counts out the time to impact. Also
cool is to watch them shoot up the targets on Range 61 with the
AC-130. You can see the tracers. It looks like they are shooting a dim
laser beam.
I was laying in the spa tonight in the backyard and watched jet after
jet head out to the range. It was great. 5-6 headed out towards Mt.
Charleston and the rest 10-13 headed out directly towards the range.
I would like to tag around when you come out for a visit. I don't
know anything about radios and that stuff you are so knowledgable
in . Let me know what if that is possible. I will buy you an alien
burger! Can't beat that.
You can't beat an alien burger for self-induced diarrhea, though only
about once every 3rd visit. I eat at the Windmill Ridge or just cook
my own food.
You can hear quite a bit of range radio traffic from Vegas. I've
listened to the Janets on tower, though of course you don't hear the
tower. You might hear "control", which is Groom's approach/departure
frequency in Vegas. I just don't recall for sure.
Nellis uses the NTS/DOE trunk radio system. It's a "smart" trunking
system, so as they move around the area, their signals can appear on
any of the NTS/DOE repeaters.
I was looking for stuff to toss yesterday and came across some old
notes from one session I spent by the Nellis fence with a trunking
scanner. It was pretty good since they were doing an exercise related
to Area II, the nuke storage site. [They claim there are no nukes
there anymore.] Talk Group 24352. I got to watch the Nellis security
roll code 3. They terminated the exercise with code word Mike 5 1 0 .
The ground crew calls out tail numbers all day on the system.
Radio Shack blew out the last of the Pro-96s maybe 2 months ago for
$200 I think. Of course, that means they will show up on ebay for a
higher price.
I think at some point in time, the ground units (threats) will go on
the trunk system. They talk about "digital" once in a while, and their
analog radios sound like crap, as in lets not fix this junk so we can
get something new. Of course, they will rue the day they go on the
trunk system since the audio quality is poor due to digital
compression.
The NTS is the "heavy rescue" for most of Nye county. [I don't know
about Pahrump.] So NTS fire can be heard on events around route 95. I
didn't record the call, but they did a rescue once at the bar north of
Indian Springs. [Coyote Springs I think.] Not at the bar per se, but
there is some shooting range behind the bar. The call was a bit
bizarre. A guy was down a hole, but the police had to secure the area
before fire could go in. To top it off, they staged the life flight
helicopter at the Chicken Ranch. I've never been there, but I assume
the brothel has a runway similar to Angels. I guess the chopper likes
to have a wind sock when landing, or the pilot knows the brothel well.
I updated the webpage regarding that crashed plane by the old Angels
brothel. it turns out the day of the crash, Angels had a contest. They
put a mattress out by the brothel and the parachutist that lands
closest to the mattress gets the girl of his choice for free. Needless
to say, something went wrong and the plane crashes. No fatalities
though.
