There are, however, some inconsistancies. There's a popular thread/belief that he really didn't do the tripLumpyHow do you do that AM radio voice? Doesn't matter. Nobody listens to AM anymore.www.LumpyMusic.comI listen to AM radio, but only for talk. There is a paper on X band radar from Sandia used to detect movement on the DOE ranges. I can dig up the title if need by. I don't know if the system was ever installed. Sandia does many experimental products that don't always make it to market. Note the Qualtron MIDS border sensors used by Groom Lake was a Sandia project. Sandia has all sorts of robot security projects. Anyway, I was never sure either way about Jerry's story. The problem with Freeman is some of his 49r stuff unrelated to this journey turned out to be questionable. But being wrong about some 49er artifact doesn't mean he never made the trip on the range. Commercial X band motion detectors are pretty easy to detect with a radar detector. Um, too easy. I never aimed one at the range, but it wouldn't be a difficult experiment.
Glenn "The Desert Rat" has mentioned meeting Jerry twice to talk about his trek. Glenn also has mentioned there are diary entries that detail the journey. Although any diary stuff could be made up. I wouldn't normally believe this type of story but this one has always sounded legit to me.
