The problem I see with the setup is some schmuck could approach from
that road behind Rachel, park in the gully area (where I had my damn
flat tire), then walk the fence line and swipe the alarm. Stupid of
course since it is a federal crime, but we've seen stupidity at the
border in broad daylight on youtube. Unlike the Qualtron alarms, there
is no mercury tamper switch in that cheap ass alarm. It would probably
go off if moved, but it's not 100% assured.

Having set up alarms similar to these, I'd say it would be very
difficult to grab one from behind and get away with it. As soon as
the field of view it is observing changes, it will send out the
alarm. There are really only two ways to avoid that. Over a period
of many minutes, one could VERY slowly cover the aperture with black
electrical tape. If the change is made slow enough, so as not to trip
the unit's change threshold, you could eventually cover it up and move
it all you want. The other possibility, depending where the battery
compartment is located, is carefully remove the batteries without
jiggling things. Either approach is pretty risky and would probably
well exceed the realm of a practical joke.
