I recall (not very well) Popular Electronics mag
in the 60s had some kind of doppler that would
pick up human/deer/cattle movement at a
reported 1/2 mile distance.
"Readout" was a microammeter, I think.
I remember the photo of the thing working
as it was pointed toward a cow in a field.
