I imagine this must have flown at Groom Lake or Creech.  I am sure it
has made a few appearances around the range.

Desert Prowler has a patch. You should treat yourself to a nice
Christmas present and get Trevor Paglen's patches book.

Speaking of patches, what I call "mdnight tanker supply" should be
showing up after the Mission Employment phase is over. There is a
patch in the book for the guys that tank up the secret birds. Of
course, if they are testing UAVs, then maybe no midnight tanker
flights. The last two weeks of December and the last two weeks of June
has no NFWS activity, so what you hear on the scanner is most likely
Groom Lake or the TTR.

Supposedly in theatre, you don't run planes that are not approved. If
I had to make a guess, I would assume Lockheed is testing the plane in
the field. Coordinated with DoD for sure, but probably not
operational. Like the blogger hints, there is no need to be stealthy
when the enemy doesn't have any radar let alone aircraft.

I've had the book for a while.  He really did a great job on the
book.  The patches are all over ebay.http://www.theparadiseranch.com/images/DesertProwler.jpg

The Desert Prowler patch is really cool.  I love the Insane Clown

Is the tanker unit out of Travis AFB?

I thought you had to call them ICP, and never by the full name. Lots
of bible thumper protests regarding ICP, which of course just sold
more CDs.

I can neither confirm nor deny where the midnight tanker comes from,
at least not on the net. ;-) Of course, Travis does have a lot of
tankers and it is pretty close to the range, at least in air miles.
