EG&G was split up in the late 1990s, half going to PerkinElmer (which
didn't take the EG&G name) and the other half by the Carlyle Group. CG
sold their half to URS in 2002. URS kept the EG&G name on as a
division up until January 1st of this year. See link.

It looks like EG&G Technical Services may still exist, or it was the
last man standing.http://corp.sec.state.ma.us/corp/corpsearch/CorpSearchSummary.asp?Rea...

Never mind. EG&G Technical Services was the part that URS ran. So yes,
it looks like EG&G is history.

One wonders if the change had anything to do with EG&G accidently
shipping those nuclear weapons parts to Taiwan a few years ago.

New name, everybody (maybe) forgets. For example, Blackwater recently
changed their name to Xe.
