maybe this is just a taxiway with a nice clean (grubbed) land next to
the taxiway. In other words, maybe tall building is just a stripe on
the ground. The image is so poor you really can't tell.
I don't think I can agree. If it were a taxiway or other
horizontal element, we'd see a tapered line. The vanishing
point effect.
I see a shadow on the NE side. That shadow is at the same
angle as the shadows on the big hanger and the elevated
water(?) tank to the right of the missile silo object.
I can also see objects (dirt, sand, hills) behind the
structure that appear to exist continuously from left
to right (SW to NE). The tower thing is blocking the
view. It wouldn't do that if it were a road/taxiway.
I believe I see horizontal demarcations on the tower,
as if it were four "sections" high.
The object right next to the tower, to the NE. It appears
to be a vehicle, generator, tank, something perhaps about
4 to 6 feet tall, based on the other objects around that
orange bldg with the garage doors and roof mounted HVAC units.
So I don't think the thing is that tall. Fire hose drying tower?
Might be a little too substantial for that, but then again, for
a location in the desert, with extremes of temp and UV, that might
be logical. That kind of tower would typically be 25' + a small bit tall.
Hang a 50' hose in half.

Yeah, you had me at the tapering line. Well, lets hope for better
conditions on the next shoot. It is good to keep an open mind.
