Something to joke about in this newsgroup.
The new ebay item number is 330450380221
I just read where Germany built a 3/4 scale model
and tested it in a wind tunnel in 1987, but abandoned
it, they probably didn't have anyplace to actually fly it
without it being seen.
My biggest reaction was when I saw the plane in
the movie Firefox, especially the nose section.
My current interest is trying to find out if my
patent applications helped any in getting the programs
started or their development, I have all the disclosure
documents from the patent office showing the defense
agencies that reviewed the applications and the date.
I also have a response from Systems Command that
simply says my patent issue was being withheld due
to the information it contains, but then several times
the Air Force attorney claimed the 12 years of secrecy
orders did not damage me.
I have canceled my Aviation Week subscription,
I don't have the money to renew it, and they don't
seem to be interested in writing about patents.
The new finance reform bill seems to be just
like what happened in 1960 and 1980 when the
government made new banking rules and the
economy got worse, congress must be dumber
than dirt.
I can't say much good about Aviation Leak. Well actually they don't
leak all that much since they probably had knowledge of the Beast of
Kandahar but sat on the story to get exclusive action later.
They relaxed the banking rules in the 80's. Nearly everything wrong
with this country today can be tracked back to Ronald Reagan.
Everything? :-) I don't think it depends on who
is president, more laws usually causes problems if it
affects small business and individuals, it is big business
and big money that needs regulated, maybe even the
banning of corporations buying or owning other
corporations.
None of it affects me, I am too old to do anything
but worry.
Reagan destroyed American manufacturing. He believed in the services
sector. You can't build an economy with everyone cutting each other's
hair.
I could go on and on. Remember, he had the solar heaters ripped off
the White House roof and tossed to the ground. None of that commie
clean energy for Ronbo. Now oil has a decent lobby....
I read where the roof had to be replaced, and a
technician said it couldn't be done without removing
the water heat panels, while some others claim it
wasn't necessary.
The water panels were not scrapped, all except
one are still installed on a museum, but not being
used.
Solar energy concentrating collectors are one
of the things that caused me to invent stealth shapes,
I was making Tiffany style leaded lamps using lead
and colored glass, and got the idea to make a lamp
with mirrors on the inside, and then figured out a
way to make a paraboloid dish for concentrating
solar energy with flat segments of mirror.
I then wrote a book of instructions, had it
printed, and made a few pages of drawings and
began selling the instructions nationally for $2.
I received hundreds of requests for free
information after the oil embargo in 1973,
and crazy things for a small town hick like me,
a request for a proposal for installing solar
electric power for all the microwave towers
in Iran.
Then when I was making progress with
prosecuting the patent application for a
truncated short span airfoil that makes a
good medium drag, high lift vehicle with
short span possible, I began to thing of
ways to market it, and then remembered
when I was making the segmented mirror
dishes that I could never see the reflection
of my eye in any of them except at one
point.
I stopped working on solar energy then
when I started working on the patent for
stealth shapes for fear of revealing what
I considered to be a balance of power
changing invention.
I was using the name "Sun Systems"
at the time, and a South Asian man said
he wanted to use the name Sun Systems
selling solar panels, so I did not object.
By the middle of 1976 I was confident
that the invention would decide the
balance of power in the world, but I
was not sure how to get it implemented
without public disclosure.
I continued testing the idea using
active infra-red, and then when NASA
placed my airfoil patent application
under the Space Act of 1958, I wrote
a required declaration that I made
the airfoil invention on my own time
and in my home and had never worked
for any defense agency, and I included
the phrase "it was only after applying
for the airfoil patent that I realized
that if the aircraft was made using all
flat (plane) surfaces, any radar returns
would be in a direction other than back
to the transmitter/receiver.
I read in one of the F-117 books
by Sweetman or Ben Rich or somebody
that Lockheed employees wanted to
use curved or rounded fairings for
better aerodynamics, but the Air Force
specified -all flat surfaces-.
From 1975 until 1995 I thought I
was the sole inventor of stealth shapes,
the read the cocky-mamie story about
a Russian mathematician and Maxwell
electromagnetic theory.
And I assumed my booklet about
large plane-segmented solar energy
concentrating collectors might have
been a factor in the big solar power
tower that has now been converted
to a telescope.
I was asked by a Washington
attorney to come there to work out
the details of the stealth shape patent
application, but I didn't want to make
the trip even though I only lived about
200 miles from D.C., that was in 1980
about when all the media stories about
an a radar invisible bomber started.
I might not be broke now if I would
have made that trip.
