Or a spark arrestor or air cleaner part from an ATV/Motorcycle.
Or something from a civilian or commercial plane.
Or an air vent from some RV or portable generator.
Or something that a pack rat dragged there from
a mile away.
Or something that stuck to a deer 10 miles away and
eventually rubbed off where it was found.

I suggest a microscopic exam of the spot weld
and the wire insulation. Might be able to ascertain
if it's mil spec wire. Hard to tell from the pic,
what size everything is, but the wire looks like
about 22x7 ga. I think mil spec is higher strand count.
Insulation looks like typical telephone/CAT/Cable.
Maybe something from the used/unused antenna site
at Badger.

Yeah, I suppose I can't rule out a piece from military comm gear. The
wire has some pieces of insulation, most of which has flaked off.
Screen by itself isn't all that odd. Screen with a grounding wire
means RF shielding with ventilation. The green isn't OD. It is
definitely like the green color the USAF used to use. Obviously a
stamp marking would make this task easier.

Badger is pretty far off. But some USAF team on the hill with portable
gear isn't all that remote of a possibility. ATVs don't go past the
first false summit. To reach that height is insanely dangerous. I
talked to the Texas cops that had the ATV. They rolled it once on the
way up. They sure left a pile of trash up there. Lots of cigarette
butts and can trash.
