Just google FAA and BARR. Lots of articles. Basically, unless you can
prove a security issue, the FAA will put the flight of you plane on
the internet. I don't think this will effect the Janet tracking, but
the corporate planes landing at Groom will have to either have their
flight blocked or do an IFR to VFR switch to avoid showing up at
Groom. That is file IFR to BTY, then switch to VFR to land at Groom.
The "suits" all all pissed about the ruling, and have paid off the
right people (house and senate) to attempt to overturn this ruling.
How dare you track our private jets!
My guess on why all of a sudden the FAA is dropping the flight
blocking is that now the media can track all the GOP presidential
candidates as they grovel for money, meet with power brokers (Koch
brothers), etc. These candidates don't have time to drive or fly
commercial.
Where AF1 goes is no secret, so Obama has nothing to loose with this
ruling. Hey, not that I have a problem with the BARR program being cut
way back.
I still expect that planes flying to Groom will go off the radar just
like they do now.
