I began working on the disclosure with
a typewriter and making crude drawings
of the shape surface configurations that
the theory required.

I was interrupted many times by the
relative's needs, but slowly made some
headway with preparing the missing parts
of the patent application.

Here it was, 3 years after I invented stealth
shapes and two years since I wrote paper #11,
with full realization that this invention would be
the biggest influence on military equipment.
But security was still the first priority, so
when I got what I thought was all the missing
parts of my incomplete application ready, I
went to a copy machine and made copies,
and mailed all the parts by registered mail,
which is as secure as I could get.

My relative was still resisting getting out
of bed much, even though I knew that it
was mostly when I was in the room, I still
tried to encourage more activity.

But the months of inactivity caused a
reduction in circulation, and one morning,
rapid breathing became critical, and I had
to spend another two weeks going to the
hospital, and finally got the relative back
home after blood thinner cleared some of
the blot clots in the lungs, which I began
to think was the problem the first doctor
called a blood disease.

After a few weeks the relative insisted
on going back home, refusing to wait even
a day or so to see a doctor about how to
manage the blood thinner on a trip, so I
withheld the blood thinner, and drove the
400 miles.

But when we got there, a gasoline
truck driver strike was planned in two days,
and I just was too concerned about bills,
making money, and the patent application
to take a chance on staying.
So I left the relative to depend on a
cousin's widow that lived next door, and
headed back home.

I was anxious to hear from the patent
office, and in my spare time I worked on
preparing and mailing patent applications
for (1. a method to use direct fuel injection
to run any engine on one-third or two-thirds
fractions of their designed displacement),
(2. a method to obtain greater output from
a solar photovoltaic cell by immersing it
in clear oil in a windowed chamber, and
circulating the oil, providing both electricity
and thermal energy, and (3. a method to make
photographic enlargements using electronic
flash instead of a light bulb.

Then I got a letter from the patent office,
saying since I added the more effective
surface configurations, and did not submit
another oath or declaration, a filing date
could not be assigned until I provided one.

That is how my filing date became Sept,
1979 instead of Dec, 1978.

At no time was I ever aware of any of
the things being done about stealth in
government or industry.

I mailed in the required declaration that
I had made the invention, myself, by myself,
in my own home.

And then waited impatiently for the next
patent office response.
