photographers. I have also been very vocal about the claims made by
such people when it comes to flash photography resulting in all kinds of
film anomalies, whether emulsion film or digital "film."
However, let me point out a site that features daylight photos and a
video of an alleged red "orb" that seems to be "out there" and not
dependent on flash. Go to ufotheatre.com forum and click on the "Red
Orb" post which includes an mpeg video of the moving "orb."
Your opinion will be appreciated. Mine is an "I don't know since there
are many examples of such and other anomalies."
I downloaded the AVI file which is slightly higher resolution and over twice
as long as the MPEG version. It shows the object drifting further towards a
smaller group of trees, then apparently coming to rest in the grass. The
person with the camera moves a little closer, but there are no more details
visible. It's a pity she didn't just stand still and brace the camera a bit
more securely. The AVI also has an audio track, with the voices of two
people, one male and the other, presumably the camera operator, female. They
both seem pretty baffled as to what it it they're seeing. At one point the
woman describes it as "silvery".
As to what it might be, I'm afraid I have no idea. It looks to be no more
than an inch or two in diameter, doesn't appear to be intelligently
controlled, and looks too big and bright - and the wrong colour - to be a
firefly. The scene looks a bit smoky, maybe there could be a fire nearby and
this could be a larger than average drifting ember? Maybe it could even be
that old favourite, ball lightning!
