This is official documentation of a monumental lie by the Smithsonian
Institution -- to a U.S. congressman, yet.

It concerned my first -- and only -- visit to the Smithsonian
after it invited me down so it could examine the very first specimen
of petrified bone that I had discovered between anthracite veins.

That specimen -- the very first of thousands upon thousands of
petrified bones, teeth and soft organs (some human) that I have
discovered between anthracite veins -- looked like this:

Museum of Natural History (NMNH) gave me a royal screwing while
I was there

Anyway, when I later informed the late U.S. Rep. Gus Yatron about
the screwing that Truth was getting from the Smithsonian, he wrote
a letter on my behalf and sought an explanation.

Contents of the letter below is an official response from the
Smithsonian. It lied, lied, lied -- and, of course, got in a good
dose of character assassination.

Thank you for your letter on behalf of Ed Conrad of Shenandoah,
Pennsylvania.

The Smithsonian's experience with Mr. Conrad began in the summer of
1981 when, without prior arrangement, he arrived at the west loading
dock of the National Museum of Natural History with a large rock in
his car trunk.

At that time five staff membrs, representing the departments of
Anthropology, Mineral Sciences and Paleobiology, determined that his
material was inorganic in origin.

Since then the staff of the Department of Paleobiology has examined
concretions, root casts, quartz veins, photographs, xeroxed copies of
photographs, and infra-red scans for him.

The contents involved consultations with no fewer than eleven staff
members of the National Museum of Natural History; we believe the
letters speak for themselves.

The Smithsonian has acted in good faith in this matter and cannot
change its opinion on the material it has seen so far. We would
encourage Mr. Conrad to seek confirmation of his opinions elsewhere.

In addition, we would recommed that he submit his ideas to a
scientific journal so they may be discussed in an open forum.

Dear Congressman Yatron:

I truly relish this golden opportunity to respond to the contents of
the letter forwarded to you by Margaret C. Hird, special assistant to
the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution.

I had to read only the first paragraph to prove that she, and the
Smithsonian, were lying.

Ms. Hird states that "without prior arrangement, he (Conrad) arrived
at the west loading dock of the National Museum of Natural History
with a large rock in his car trunk."

This is in direct conflict with the facts. To prove this is a
mistatement of truth on the Smithsonian's part, I have enclosed a copy
of a parking permit for the date in question, Aug. 25, 1981.

I could have hardly reached the vicinity of the west loading dock
without produicing this parking permit to a guard when pulling onto
Smithsonian property. Actually, it was the guard who examined the
parking -- and access -- pass, permitted my entry and, in fact, gave
me directions to the west dock.

The parking permit had been mailed to me by Ramond Rye II, of the
Smithsonian's Department of Paleobology, folllowng my telephone
conversation with him previoulsy.

The inprinted date certainly is sufficient proof that I had not
arrived at the Smithsonian "without prior arrangement." . . .

"I repeat the accusation I had made against the Smithsonian in
previous communciation to you: The Smithsonian and its people are
conspiring to suppress scientific data and it, in fact, has gone so
far as to tamper wth scientific evidence in order to achieve its goal
of protecting Darwin's erroneous theory of man's origin...

if it has the structure of bone."

Remember what you did next?

You informed me, six weeks later, that "an x-ray analysis of the
material reveals it to be quartz, the most abundant mineral of the
earth's crust. So although the enigmatic object exposed in the boulder
may resemble a hominid skull, its mineral composition is definitely
not that of bone."

You knew then -- and you know now -- that x-ray analysis is NOT 
a test to determine the cellular structure of bone.

Obviously, you performed the correct test and saw the cellular
structure in the object embedded in the boulder, else you wouldn't
have resorted to such a despicable pseudoscientific tactic.

Why did you attempt to pull a fast one?

Do you still think you're going to get away with it?

Would you be agreeable to a Congressional investigation?
