So much for what it isn't. Now, as to what it is. It looks to me like
nothing more than dirt on one of the camera lens elements. The camera is
being zoomed during the photo sequence (note the Earth seeming to get
larger during the sequence). It appears that a smudge on one of the lens
elements is merely coming into focus, then going back out of focus as
the focal length of the lens was zoomed. The dark object on the surface
of the Moon looks like nothing more than the shadow of a boulder. The
appearance of the lens smudge near the boulder shadow was merely
coincidental and nothing to get excited about.

This could be close. Apparently it's not EVEN a motion sequence, it's a
still that NASA rerleased, that somebody years later set on a stand and
zoomed and panned with a production camera.

Ah ha. Then it is just a hoax. How typical of the UFO kooks here to get
suckered into such a lame hoax. Seems to happen with monotonous
regularity.

having nothing to do with logi 'cause he is just assuming. Then, Oberg
chimes in supporting Davis' stupid assumption by coming up with an even
stupider reply not taking in consideration that the stills/animaged gif
came from filmfootage shot by an astronaut and presented as a NOVA
documentary and these two support their stupid views? Just what the
hell if going on here? Michael (Asshole) Davis, I now pronounce you and
James (Cap'n Jim'O) husband and wife. The missionary position doesn't
apply here!"
