Better than that is UFO:Aftermath, a long-awaited sequel to the classic
X-Com games. You have to defend the Earth from invading aliens by capturing
and back-engineering alien technology. The original game, UFO: Enemy Unknown
had lots of nice details lifted directly from classic UFO mythology. It was
also a really good game.
