I've faked many UFOs and UFO photographs, it's my way of mentally
masturbating. And after all, life is about amusing yourself.
Flying kites at night is a favorite. Not your store bought variety,
these babies are homemade. One interesting trick I hit on was to make
the kite out of mylar, then shine colored lights on it. If anyting, I
should get a prize for my aeordyamics--you'd be surprised what will
fly. Hanging UFOs from a black kite is another awesome method.
Weather balloons work too but they're a pain-in-the-ass. They are
great for creating the "legends" that people talk about for decades.
Triangular objects, hung from flat black kites, with radio controlled
guts can create some mind-boggling effects. I've worked with other
guys who have built these UFOs and some of them really poured their
hearts into them. It's amazing what can be done with laser displays;
in the sky these objects can be seen for miles.
I live in Phoenix and I know EXACTLY what the "Phoenix Lights" were
back in the mid-90's. It wasn't my gig but I know the two guys who
built the rig, and the way they made it look so gigantic--it was an
illusion. The guys who built it were engineers and knew a lot about
creating large scale theatrical effects. The technology has been
explored by others, it's not that new or origial, just the way it was
used out there.
Don't write me e-mails, I NEVER read them. Just be satisfied knowing
that the crazy stuff you see in the sky is BS. You'll never get
another magician to come clean like this.
