If they are as superior as you say they are they should find 
other planets with life forms more compatible with them technologically. 

The aliens decide what they want to do and when they want to do it, and you
have no choice but to go along with their program.  Thank your lucky stars

For someone who knows nothing about aliens and has never met one, you sure
have a lot of opinions.  They are not helping us grow up.  That's a decision
human beings make, it's entirely their choice.  If human beings want to be
in space they are going to have to play it by the 'big boys' rules.  Human
beings are on the low end intelligence and technology wise.  We're babies.
Human beings went into space and found it was already occupied by other
sentient beings  -- they have to universally accept that fact, or stay on
their planet with their heads in the sand.  So far human beings have kept
their heads in the sand and have decided to not accept reality.  It will be
their demise.

Nope.  Not even close.  It's my experience and observation by comparison
to the actions of human kind.

and obeservations of alien behavor over a 50 year period, that they are by
far kinder, more considerate, gentler and more wise than human beings. 
Aliens have never ever deliberately hurt me whereas human beings have
deliberately hurt me.

I believe from what you suggest they left the machine behind 
knowing it would destroy humanity. That would be their purpose. 

Human beings will destroy each other over it, the aliens have nothing to do
with it.  It's about human choice.  It's a big choice:  to accept the
reality of alien presence or die trying to cover it up.  Meanwhile, they're
confined to this planet, mostly by choice because they're freaful of what
they found in space.  NASA was not expecting to have the moon littered with
alien vehicles in orbit around the moon when they got there.

The alien saucer isn't destroying anything, it sits inert buried underground
-- it's human reaction to it which is causing the destruction.

using or trying to use it
would cause our demise as a species. Couldn't they just have left us a 
box of chocolates or a bottle of wine? More appropriate for a present.

Well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how human beings have
reacted to alien presence -- considering the USA has an alien saucer and
know undisputedly the aliens are present here.

And 
taking you and other with them...well they could be using you for food 
back home for all you know until you get there. Being led (or guided) 
like lambs to slaughter for all you know.

will prevent the aliens from being here.  But they can prevent human beings
from taking their explotation of their own species in space.

If the aliens had any brains they would have landed on the White House 
lawn in broad daylight not a secure army facility. 

There was a reason for it.  When the aliens left the saucer they had already
assesed the problem on earth and realized that the military/industrial
complex was the sole problem on earth -- that's why they gave it to them to
see what they'd do.   And now you see what they have done  -- they buried it
and continued with their world conquest and ignored the fact that they're
destroying everything.  Very suicidal.

The responsibility is solely human.  If humans cause their own demise
because of their secret keeping it is their choice.  The alien actions can
be seen two ways:  beneficial or nonbeneficial.  It's the human perspective
which counts.

Well I'd say landing a saucer at Holloman AFB and leaving a saucer there was
a pretty bold statement indicating the aliens have no intention of keeping
themselves secret.
