I joined a skeptics group for a while. I was actually made to feel
pretty welcome. There were about 8 or so people ranging from about 28
to 65 years old. I went for a few months but got tired of it because
it basicly boiled down to a couple people doing all the talking and no
one else being able to get a word in edgewise. I thought it was pretty
pointless to argue whether events were occurring ont he other side of
the world. His point was he didnt believe India exists because he had
never seen it. That is when I decided that I had better things to do
with my time.

I rarely post, but there's always a lot of interesting stuff on the skeptix 
list--usually it's easier to read it on bit.listserv.skeptix. though.
