Jupiter
http://seds.lpl.arizona.edu/nineplanets/nineplanets/jupiter.html
Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and by far the largest.
Jupiter is more than twice as massive as all the other planets
combined (318 times Earth).
orbit: 778,330,000 km (5.20 AU) from Sun
diameter: 142,984 km (equatorial)
mass: 1.900e27 kg
The gas planets do not have solid surfaces, their gaseous
material simply gets denser with depth (the radii and diameters
quoted for the planets are for levels corresponding to a
pressure of 1 atmosphere). What we see when looking at these
planets is the tops of clouds high in their atmospheres
(slightly above the 1 atmosphere level).
Jupiter is about 90% hydrogen and 10% helium (by numbers of atoms,
75/25% by mass) with traces of methane, water, ammonia and "rock".
This is very close to the composition of the primordial Solar
Nebula from which the entire solar system was formed. Saturn has a
similar composition, but Uranus and Neptune have much less
hydrogen and helium.
Jupiter probably has a core of rocky material amounting to
something like 10 to 15 Earth-masses.
Above the core lies the main bulk of the planet in the form of
liquid metallic hydrogen. This exotic form of the most common
of elements is possible only at pressures exceeding 4 million
bars, as is the case in the interior of Jupiter (and Saturn).
Liquid metallic hydrogen consists of ionized protons and
electrons (like the interior of the Sun but at a far lower
temperature).
At the temperature and pressure of Jupiter's interior hydrogen
is a liquid, not a gas. It is an electrical conductor and the
source of Jupiter's magnetic field. This layer probably also
contains some helium and traces of various "ices".
The outermost layer is composed primarily of ordinary molecular
hydrogen and helium which is liquid in the interior and gaseous
further out. The atmosphere we see is just the very top of this
deep layer. Water, carbon dioxide, methane and other simple
molecules are also present in tiny amounts.
Jupiter would have to be at least 80 times
more massive to become a star.
Jupiter has a huge magnetic field, much stronger than Earth's.
Its magnetosphere extends more than 650 million km (past the
orbit of Saturn!). (Note that Jupiter's magnetosphere is far
from spherical -- it extends "only" a few million kilometers in
the direction toward the Sun.) Jupiter's moons therefore lie
within its magnetosphere, a fact which may partially explain
some of the activity on Io. Unfortunately for future space
travelers and of real concern to the designers of the Voyager
and Galileo spacecraft, the environment near Jupiter contains
high levels of energetic particles trapped by Jupiter's magnetic
field. This "radiation" is similar to, but much more intense
than, that found within Earth's Van Allen belts. It would be
immediately fatal to an unprotected human being.
The Galileo atmospheric probe discovered a new intense radiation
belt between Jupiter's ring and the uppermost atmospheric layers.
This new belt is approximately 10 times as strong as Earth's
Van Allen radiation belts. Surprisingly, this new belt was also
found to contain high energy helium ions of unknown origin.
Jupiter has rings like Saturn's, but much fainter and smaller.
Unlike Saturn's, Jupiter's rings are dark (albedo about .05).
They're probably composed of very small grains of rocky material.
Unlike Saturn's rings, they seem to contain no ice.
In July 1994, Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 collided with Jupiter with
spectacular results. The effects were clearly visible even with
amateur telescopes. The debris from the collision was visible for
nearly a year afterward with Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
Jupiter has 61 known satellites (as of May 2003):
the four large Galilean moons, 34 smaller named ones,
plus many more small ones discovered recently but not yet
named. http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/~sheppard/satellites/

Alien Life? Astronomers Predict Contact by 2025
Hillary Mayell for National Geographic News
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2003/11/1114_031114_setisearch.html
Earthlings could make contact with extraterrestrial beings
by the year 2025, two astronomers predict in a new book.
The authors say it's unlikely space aliens look like
Hollywood's ET--little, green, and hairless--and that while
aliens are highly unlikely to pay Earth a visit, they may
be sending radio signals across space to let us know they exist.
The book, Cosmic Company, "is an explication of why we think
they're out there, how we're looking for them, what they must be
like, and a little bit of what it might mean" to find life on
other planets, said co-author Seth Shostak, a senior astronomer
at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute (SETI)
in Mountain View, California.
The institute conducts research in astronomy, the planetary
sciences, and evolution. Past research projects have been funded
by NASA, the National Science Foundation, and numerous universities
and foundations.
Beyond Our Galaxy
Shostak and co-author Alexandra Barnett, an astronomer and
executive director of the Chabot Space and Science Center in
Oakland, California, base their predictions on a number of factors.
They include the billions of years in which extraterrestrial life
could have evolved and the abundance of planets and stars elsewhere
in the universe that are likely to mimic environmental conditions
found on Earth.
"It's a matter of statistics, really," said Barnett.
"Depending on who you talk to, the universe is 12 to 15 billion years
old. Humans have only been around for 40,000 years. We really are the
new kids on the block. It would just be too tough a pill to swallow
to believe that nothing else has evolved in all that time and space."
The universe is indeed vast. In 1924 astronomer Edwin Hubble showed
that there are galaxies beyond our own. "More than a half century later,
the Hubble telescope has shown that there are at least 100 billion such
galaxies," said Shostak. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is home to at least
100 billion stars. Planets are also plentiful. Since 1995, when the
first Jupiter-sized planet outside of our solar system was found,
astronomers have been able to identify about 100 more planets, all of
them around 300 times more massive than Earth.
"Planets really are as common as phone poles," said Shostak.
"Right now, we know that there are planets out there [orbiting]
ten or twenty percent of the stars we look at. So far, only huge
planets have been found, but it would be a big surprise if there
were only big ones. I don't think anyone expects that to be
the case."
Until now, the search for intelligent life has been somewhat
hampered by inadequate technology--too few stars surveyed at
too low a sensitivity by Earth and space-based telescopes.
But in 2007, NASA will launch the Kepler Mission, a satellite
probe able to detect smaller planets the size of Mercury, Mars,
or the Earth. The mission is specifically designed to look for
planets in what scientists consider the habitable zone: the distance
from a star where liquid water can exist on the planet's surface.
Projects like the Kepler Mission and the new Allen Telescope Array,
located near Mount Lassen, California, which will enable astronomers
to survey 100,000 stars by 2015, should increase the odds of finding
a radio signal broadcast by alien life, say the astronomers.
"The bottom line is that there is an enormous amount of real estate,
and there doesn't seem to be anything particularly special about our
neighborhood. The star that's our sun is nothing special. The Earth
is just a rock," said Shostak. "To think anything else is to once
again put ourselves at the center of the universe, and scientists
are very [wary] of doing that. We've done it before and been
proven wrong."
Searching for Intelligent Life
The building blocks of life on Earth--complex organic compounds
and amino acids--are abundant in the universe and can be found
in meteorites, comets, and interstellar gas and dust.
"There's a growing realization that there may be some other biology
in our solar system," said Shostak. "There are deep oceans on the
moons of Jupiter, and some evidence that Mars in its early days
really should have had some life. So if there are two or maybe even
three instances in this solar system alone, where life could have
emerged, it's not unreasonable to consider that similar situations
arose in other solar systems."
Of course, there is a difference between life and intelligent life,
and scientists disagree about the likelihood of intelligence evolving
on another planet.
Some believe that it takes very special conditions for intelligence
to evolve. The late Stephen Jay Gould, the preeminent Harvard
University evolutionary biologist and paleontologist, wrote that
the creation of intelligence was a freak occurrence, requiring a
number of specific events to occur that could never be replicated
again.
Shostak and Barnett believe differently. They argue that there are
evolutionary mechanisms that encourage intelligence, particularly
among social beings.
"For instance, if you can intuit the actions of the males
next to you--they're about to steal your food or your mate,
say--then you're going to have increased breeding success,
so the next generation is going to have more ability to live
in a social environment," said Shostak. "This is very general
behavior--it's not miraculous--you see it in the great apes,
of course, but you also see it in dolphins, whales."
"JO Alien"
As to what an intelligent alien life-form might look like should
such a thing exist, it's anyone's guess. Shostak and Barnett created
"JO Alien," an animated character for a planetarium show at the
National Space Centre in Leicester, England, to explore the question.
"It's the poster child of aliens," said Shostak. "A very conventional
kind of alien--grey and smooth and humanoid--very anthropomorphic.
Not what we really expect."
However, the genderless JO does demonstrate some of the basic
principles of physics and engineering that might dictate what
another life-form might look like.
"An alien would probably have to be bigger than a rat because rats
have quite small brains, and an intelligent life-form would need a
bigger brain," said Barnett. "So bigger than a cat, but not bigger
than an elephant because there are limitations on how much weight a
body can support."
JO Alien has two eyes, based on the assumption that an alien life-form
would be found on a planet circling a star. Everything on Earth that
lives in light has developed eyes. Why two instead of one? Two gives you
the evolutionary advantage of being better able to catch your next meal,
said Barnett. Why not ten eyes? It would take an enormous amount of
brain-power to process all the signals, she said, with little or no
extra benefit.
As far as limbs are concerned, the pair speculate that an extraterrestrial
would have more than one, particularly if it's building radio telescopes,
but a score would be a stretch. Again, it would require a great deal of
brain-power to coordinate all 20, Barnett said.
Given the enormous distances between the stars, measured in terms of
trillions of miles, Shostak doesn't expect a visit.
"There's a tremendous amount of interest in alien life, mostly from the
point of view that we've been visited," he said. "I don't believe that,
and I don't think most scientists do. What we'd most like to convey is
that there's a possibility they exist even if they haven't visited, and
we're searching for them."

Information on some Basic Rules of The Game
from Matrix V Gold Edition
© Leading Edge International
Research Group. All Rights Reserved.
The use of the word 'Game' originates with the Higher Selves.
The Empire and the Dark do NOT consider it a game in any way
and do not appreciate the reference. Game is used because of
the challenges and object: to overcome all the Empire's best
technology and manipulation to regain your identity (Final Incarnation),
gather huge amounts of sensory experiences/emotional experiences
and develop wisdom. It is a challenge in that you begin with no
memory of who you are and have to regain it by means your own
Higher Self decides.
There is no single path to this enlightenment but there are many
false paths put there by the Empire and the Dark to keep you from
finding yourself (religion, for example). Every Higher Self will
succeed, some faster and some slower, but all will eventually
succeed. To find out what you need to do, you must access your
Higher Self.
Robert Monroe developed the key to this. It is to access a level
of consciousness that Monroe called Focus 12. That's how I learned
and I know no other way. It's a matter of going within instead of
without. When Monroe told the one group I was in how to do it, no
one, except me, was interested in doing so. This is something a Final
Incarnation really wants to do (access the Higher Self). It cannot be
done by someone for you as only you (as your Dominant and Final
Incarnations) can have this access and Dominants may not consciously
realize they've been there (during sleep) unless psychic oriented.
The material I've been releasing has not been released publicly for
thousands of years. You can find threads of it in Credo Mutwa's
material and Robert Monroe's books, for example. This material is
highly suppressed and you can see why.
Val is to be honored for putting it out for access to anyone.
Even if they aren't ready to handle it, it will have an effect
on their spirit which will assist in their 'future'. This material,
in its form on Val's site, is unique and the vast majority of the
information has never appeared elsewhere. It is not in the interest
of the Empire that you know these things for it is spirit, not body
oriented. That this information is out now should tell you something
about Earth's immediate future. Think on that.
I have told you about simultaneous and sequential incarnations and
some of the implications of each. However, for those Higher Selves
involved in the Game, there is one constant: all pre-3rd density
memories are kept from the incarnations until the 3rd density path
is complete. This is why even though the sequential incarnations
retain their past, 3rd density incarnational life memories, they
have to build from a clean slate with a first incarnation.
With each following incarnation, more information is added.
The simultaneous incarnations also start 3rd density with a clean
memory slate in order to participate in the Game. But this group
is adding to the Higher Self's memories from all incarnations at
once, scattered throughout Earther 3rd density time periods.
In both cases NO pre-Game memories are lost, just hidden. What can
work against spiritual advancement is the desire for physical
immortality, a passion for the Orion Empire. BUT, when you look at
reptilian royals, who are fanatics about cloning and life
extensions, they don't advance spiritually. The Orion Empire
reptilians are pretty stagnant spiritually, however this does
serve a purpose in the Game. It is not for me to say more on their
path as our concern is our simultaneous path. Just know it all
works out in the end.
Another negative on the sequential path, from a simultaneous
point of view, is that they tend to choose reincarnation in the
same star group, i.e., Pleiadian, Tau Ceti, etc. They don't have
the vast variety of Earther incarnations that simultaneous
incarnates here jump around in. This severely cuts down on
experiences. There is also far less gender jumping incarnations
among them. They can get comfortable in either male or female
bodies and rarely hop into the other. This is one of the reasons
why the Errans of Taygeta (Pleiadian) are homophobic.
Needless to say, those Higher Selves who don't choose simultaneous
paths are definitely much less adventurous. The Game is far more
complex and there are certain segments of it you must discover on
your own at some point in your progression. That the simultaneous
incarnates are developing so rapidly toward spiraling out (thus
winning) the Game and leaving the sequentials to slowly progress
on their own is significant. When the Earther experience is
completed, ALL Earther Higher Selves will have proceeded to new
levels while the sequentials continue along on their path MINUS
the Earther faction. That should give you something to think about!

But the whole story takes on a much darker hue. We have discovered
that military and intelligence agencies, mainly the CIA, were involved
with this group right from the beginning. In fact, the research institute
where the entities first made their appearance was actually a front for
Pentagon psychological warfare and parapsychological experiments.
The person who formed and led the 'contact group', and who first
established contact with the entities, was - at the very same time -
working for both the Pentagon and the CIA on various techniques of
psychological manipulation. This included the use of hallucinogenic drugs,
hypnosis and electromagnetic influence. He was working specifically on
ways to induce apparent mental contact with non-human entities - and,
much more disturbingly, this was part of the CIA's MKULTRA mind
control project.
We have seen the involvement of the CIA in much of this story. But how
far does it go?
Did they create this scenario from the beginning, as part of a long-term
programme of psychological and sociological manipulation?
Or could it really be that some non-human entities - but not necessarily
who they claim to be - are either running the show or are partners in its
stage management?
Either way, it should scare the hell out of us...
