Oh, look! Rick's trying to condescend! That's adorable.

How nice. Does it ever rain in your world?

When it does, I'm sure his mind is boggled.

Speaking of mind boggling have you seen Return of the King?

A few years back, I was in a script writers list, at a university,
where people gathered to create and discuss and peer review scripts.

And we were discussing such things as what books might make great movies.

Of course Lord of the Rings, was discussed. We gave our input as a group,
making such comments as "don't make another Dune" and these sorts of
things. I for one made several comments such as be sure to get a classic
trained actor to do Gandalf.

So then someone took up the cause and very shortly thereafter, it was
announced that the movies would be made. And I said "Cecil B. Demille,
commonnnnnn down!

Well it looks like he brought a few friends with him.

What a production. It it truly is mind boggling. I went to see it last night,
and then a buddy came and got me tonight and he had free tickets so I
went again.

I still remember right after they decided to make the movies, that I asked
them about the production and they were quite excited - and I don't know them
personally, it was a semi anonymous list server - but at any rate,
they told me at that time, they were going to get Jim Carey to play Golem,
and Al Paccino to play Gandalf. Now I love Al Paccino, but you can
imagine my relief later when I found out, they were merely pulling my leg.

At any rate, a very dark story, with good triumphing over evil,
but the production was unbelieveable. Truly a classic of epic proportions.

Isn't it amazing, what you can do with a little alien technology.

But the strangest thing is, that people take it almost for granted.

The castles, the amazing battles, the deatils, the characters, this
is truly art imitaing life, and to a very convincing degree.

So do I sound like I am being condescending, or elitist, or conceited?

I am only pulling your leg.

Take a look at a production like that, and see greatness.
