Oh, he's a troll alright. He may or may not think so, but that's not
really relevant. He shows no indication of actually believing any of
what he posts, and every indication that he's in it strictly for the
anti-debunkerism.

If he were actually artful about it, he could even be agitprop
intending to discredit believers by appearing to be one, and also
appearing a kook. This has happened at the instigation of federal
agencies before (not newsgroups, but UFO groups in real life).

But no, he's way too much of a goof. I doubt he actually gives a damn
about the subject matter. Probably just someone who feels powerless
and pushed around in real life, taking out his frustrations on
something he can least pretend to influence.

He's trolling himself, at minimum.
