Radar returns are not a particularly strong form of evidence.
but then that could also be the case for planes that are in fact tracked
by radar. Do they then 'really' exist? If radar is that unreliable it
should be scrapped.
It's a rather precarious leap from "I saw something unidentified on the
radar display" to "it was a craft from a distant world, piloted by
aliens".

well, not exactly. It isn't necessarily from some other world. But if you
have unidentified aircraft that has no business being in the airspace there
should be a little bit of concern. Do airports and the airforce normally
allow 'unidentified' aircraft flying around un annouced with no flight
plans?
What if they were in fact foreign aircraft??? The Russians shot down an
'identified' Korean aircraft in their airspace. Maybe its time we started
shooting and asking questions later.
