In article <c1ojb0$21he$1@pencil.math.missouri.edu>, Jane Sandringham says...
As long as we're cleaning up the air waves.
Janet Jackson's nipple is revealed on television for a split second
(at the half-time show of one of America's most violent sports) and
conservatives use it to charge ahead with their agenda to censor and
control the messages that are broadcast over the people's air waves.
Clear Channel, which is a broadcasting monopoly, suspends Howard
Stern's program from 6 markets after it has had to pay fines for
another DJ's offensive (to conservatives) language.

If they are now censoring offensive language at the Oscars telecast
with a 5 second delay (for sexually explicit and political speech -
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/awards/oscars/feature_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000446142),
it's time to flood the FCC and our Senators and Congress men and
women. Demand that they censor right-wing talk radio programs for the
much more offensive and dangerous political hate speech practiced by
Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Sean Hannity and others. Conservatives
do NOT get to decide the standard for offensive language.
Republicans have managed to do away with equal time requirements,
granting themselves the awesome power of the air wave medium. They
are able to broadcast malicious, hostile and antagonistic smears that
go unrefuted.
Write your Senators and Congressmen and women demanding that the FCC
stop the hate speech on talk radio.
Find your representatives, get familiar with what they are doing in

They are YOUR public air waves! Tell the FCC what you want! The
supporters of censorship are!
