Scotty 2004-05-15 :
It was Venus.

A series of brightly lit, rapidly moving objects filmed in the skies
over Mexico could have been caused by a scientific phenomenon
involving gases in the atmosphere, a scientist said Thursday.

it was not Venus, because on 2004-03-05 around 5 pm in Campeche, Venus was
practically above the sun, with the sun at 15 degrees altitude and Venus
at 60 degrees, approximately. Both at an approximate azimuth of 260 deg.
I must say that with the sun so low I would not rule out the possibility
of reflections of the sun inside the FLIR casing and optics (and
subsequent collective hallucination).
